Note: The bride in this photograph was originally identified as Ethel Bersey's sister Florence (Flossie) Bersey, but this seems unlikely as Flossie died in 1906 and did not marry. Possibly used as plough winkers for horses on farms in the 19th and 20th century.A pair of vintage leather horse winkers with steel rings, a bit and bars and side leather buckles to attach it to the cheek straps of the bridle to help focus the horse's vision to the front. The pole and neck straps are adjustable and can be lengthened and tightened without altering the blinds. The front strap goes around the horse's muzzle. University of Ballarat is a predecessor institution of Federation University Australia. Academic gowns distinguish between the University's senior office holders and our graduates. Federation University's Chancellor wears a blue robe that is trimmed with gold and features a gold embroidered frog at the shoulder and gold oak-leaf braid below the arm hole. The Deputy Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor also wear blue robes, with gold trims and different designs inclorporating the gold oak-leaf braid, ord or tassels.
