Possibly used as plough winkers for horses on farms in the 19th and 20th century.

Physical description

A pair of vintage leather horse winkers with steel rings, a bit and bars and side leather buckles to attach it to the cheek straps of the bridle to help focus the horse's vision to the front. The pole and neck straps are adjustable and can be lengthened and tightened without altering the blinds. The front strap goes around the horse's muzzle. They were possibly Plough Winkers.
