Group of Salvation Army Songsters 1966, photograph taken pre-Perth & Adelaide trip. In October 1966 the group travelled to Perth and Adelaide many miles were covered by the Songsters in the course of their mission of bring blessing and enjoyment per medium of music. Since 1960 when a visit was made to Hawthorn and Melbourne Spring Festival, over 5,500 miles have been travelled by this group. After the Perth trip a further 4,000 miles covered. A brass stud and leather loop secure the free end of the belt tongue. A pair of brass rings are attached to the top edge of the belt for the attachment of the shoulder strap. A pair of squared “D”rings and a brass flat hook are located on the lower edge of the belt on the left side for the attachment of a sword frog. .2) Brown leather shoulder strap is attached at the front and rear of the belt by a brass stud and eyelet. Adjustment via a brass buckle. .3) Brown leather sword frog stitched on both sides with a brass “D” ring attached to the top. A brass post is placed at the centre where the supporting straps meet in a V. The Ballarat Observatory was established by James Oddie. It was later given to the Ballarat School of Mines, then the City of Ballarat.A number of Miners' Rights made out to James Oddie of Ballarat, for a block of land in Magpie Street, Mount Pleasant, used as the Ballarat Observatory. The red 1995 Miners' Right includes land at Dana Street with red writing over it regarding its transferal. The Observatory Registration in No 19578 with the situation of residence area being 'Magpie Street Mount Pleasant 209 feet x 52 feet" The District and Division is Central D Ballarat.
