The Mitcham Memorial Hall was opened in 1923. When the Mitcham RSL moved to premises in McDowall Street the building and property were sold in 1993. Born in 1938 in Blackburn the only child of Albert and Margaret La Galle, Keith was known as a clockmaker. He was born in Nicholson Street Nunawading in 1889 and in 1917 he opened his first shop in Blackburn near the roundabout.
