The gate in these photos is the only remaining on e of 17 towers that were placed strategically on the town walls. It was called the Buttergate and located near to St John's Gate which levied a toll on the butter entering the town, the levy being used to support the Carmelite Monastery, founded in 1256 in what is now Mary Street, Drogheda.

Hat belonged to Catherine (Kitty) Ann Windsor (born 23 Nov 1919 died 17 Nov 2002) in the 1930s. She was the grandmother of Rachael Cottle (Whitehorse Historical Society Secretary Aug 2011-2016). She was gate keeper at the Tunstall (Nunawading) railway gates crossing at Springvale Road during 1934 - 1952.A house was supplied for the keeper. Woolamai House was built in approx 1869 on part of Capt Cleeland's property which covered most of the eastern end of Phillip Island. He maintained the Beacon Light on Woolamai Point close to his house. Trained as a cartographic draftsman within the mining industry, Margaret Picken is an artist who worked producing property illustrations for real estate agencies in eastern suburbs of Victoria from 1983-2005. The last swing door train was withdrawn from service in 1973. The third track on this line was commissioned in 1971. The overpass bridge was built at this time. Two women are standing at the railway crossing gates, ready to open or close the gates [Possibly Iredale family?]. Originally thought to be the rail crossing at Grimshaw Street and Old Greensborough Road. In 2023, there is doubt that this is the case due to the double rail line and building in background.
