This book is a record, made in honour of deceased Legatees, who have given service to the cause of Legacy. This is labeled Book 3. There are two similar books on display at Legacy House Melbourne.This is a record of Legatees who have given up their spare time to assist the families of deceased service personnel.Black hardcover book, white pages with floral border. Back cover has some scuff marks at the top. Inside front and back cover is decorated with a coloured pattern.Front cover, title and Legacy logo embossed in gold, thin indented rectangular border. Spine has 5 raised horizontal bars set at equal distance down the spine. The raised bars have an indented, horizontal thin line along the top centre and bottom of each bar. These raised bars are interspersed with an indented floral arrangement. At the top and bottom of the spine are two horizontal indented thin lines (2mm apart). Back cover has a thin indented rectangle line as a border. Inside front and back cover, gold embossed border. Pages 4-5 three poems "In Flanders Fields" by Col. John McCrae, KIA Flanders 1916. "The Torch" (The Badge of Legacy). "The Spirit of Legacy". Honor Roll consists of fifty eight pages of deceased Legatees names written boldly, and date of death, in black ink. Photo looks over Shoppee Square (Central median area) in Sturt St between Armstrong and Doveton Streets, with the Town Hall and John Snow & Company (Snows) building in the view, along with the national mutual building. An ESCo tram is westbound on the south side of Sturt St. Note the telegraph pole on the left side of the photo. One the rear is a birthday message to a person in Hamilton Newcastle. It is dated 29/11/1909.Yields information about Sturt St Ballarat and Shoppee's square.Postcard colour, Divided back. 1099.1 - photocopy of an article in The Courier, Ballarat Tuesday Feb. 9 1988, page 17 of the house that contained Ballarat ESCo tram No. 12 in the Tuesday Heritage Column of the newspaper. Contains a photograph of the house containing the tramcar. Newspaper Clipping details the former occupiers, the Rayner family, the construction of the extensions around the tramcar, family use, family history and some details of the family members and other local history. The copy of the newspaper Clipping has numerous pin holes in the corner and the rust marks due to use on a display on Tram No. 12 in a display board in the depot from about 1991 to 1998. From a copy made from the newspaper Clipping collection held by Alan Bradley. 1099.2 - copy made March 1999 of the same Clipping for record purposes and to have a good copy. (2 copies held). Also has a review by John Hindle of the "Storming St. Kilda by Tram", presented by TheatreWorks aboard a special tram for St. Kilda, from the Herald Newspaper dated 15/3/1988. Written on M&MTB letterhead, with "Dear John" and author's signature "Bob Risson" handwritten in. Has been folded into four for posting. On quarto size paper, with watermark "Loganvale / Parchment / Made in Britain". Gives M&MTB phone numbers, postal and street address and telegraphic address on letterhead. 990.2 - Typed letter from Chairman of M&MTB (Robert (Bob) Risson to Mr. John Grimwade dated 29 April 1965, concerning tramcar design and deputy chairman (Mr. Kirby) forthcoming overseas trip. Written on M&MTB letterhead, with "Dear John" and author's signature "Bob" handwritten in. Has been folded into six for posting. On quarto size paper, with a watermark "? / RAG ? / Made in Australia". Gives M&MTB phone numbers, postal and street address and telegraphic address on letterhead, different design to 990.1, including phone number. Above the "Dear John" an imprint from of another sheet of paper, has been imposed on the sheet - grease mark? about 15 in diameter. 990.3 - Copy of interoffice memo from Deputy Chairman (Mr. Kirby) on yellow paper, dated 27 April 1965, replying to Chairmans memo of 26 April 1965, about the design of new trams, with steps inside the doorways. Signed by Mr. Kirby. Has been folded for mailing. Has left hand edge partly folded in. 990.4 - Copy of interoffice memo from Chairman (R. Risson) to Deputy Chairman, about a suggestion by Mr. Grimwade about running boards and the width of trams. Notes Chairman's view that the policy of running boards was deliberate in order that cars collided with them first rather than the tram body. On blue paper. Signed by the Chairman. Pale yellow page containing a picture and upstairs and downstairs plans of the Police Barracks, Rosalind Park, Bendigo. On the back is the history of the building and it's use over the years since it was completed in 1860. On the 9 November 2002, the Bendigo Senior Secondary College presented a display of Police memorabilia to mark the opening of the refurbished Police Barracks. There were tours of the Barracks, displays and a Mounted Police display with horses.
