This rope was part of a German Parachute cord from the Second World War. German paratroopers, or Fallschirmjager, were often at the forefront of German military actions. A pocket size booklet with a series of articles about Aleppo, Syria. This booklet was sent to an Australian family by a local citizen befriended by an Australia soldier serving in Syria during World War 2. The book inner cover is marked "To Val with best wishes from Bert?? Aleppo 1-2-47". World War I. Roll of Honour. Independant Order of the Rechabites. Framed coloured certificate set in brown wood frame. The certificate lists the members of the Supplejack Tent No.401 Dumbalk who have volunteered for "Active Service in response to the Empire's Call." Names handwritten in black ink. The border is decorated with coloured flowers and flags and the images of King George V, the Minister for Defence and the first Australian soldier to win a VC.

Photograph AWM Bel 69/556VN.The Long Tan Cross is a memorial which was erected by the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment on 18 August 1969 to mark the site of the Battle of Long Tan, which was fought three years earlier during the Vietnam War. While the cross was removed following the Communist victory in 1975 and used to commemorate a priest, it was recovered by the Đồng Nai Province Museum in 1984 and placed on display. A replica cross was also erected on the battlefield during the 1980s, and is frequently visited by Australian Vietnam War veterans.
