The card relates to Flying Officer Ivan Francis SOUTHALL DFC & his marriage to Joy Blackburn on 8.9.1945. Ivan Francis SOUTHALL initially enlisted as No V27277 in the CMF on 11.3.1941 aged 20 years. He was discharged from the Army on 18.6.1942 with the rank of Gunner in 22nd Field Regiment. He enlisted the following day in the RAAF No 418900. He was discharged from the Air Force with the Rank of Flight Lieutenant on 19.11.1946. Certificate - Illuminated Address - Corporal P E Cook, He Answered His Country's Call
Corporal Phillip Edward Cook, 4470, 46th Battalion AIF Over 300 men from the Shire of Whittlesea enlisted during WWI. One of these was Corporal Cook, son of the Rev. Richard and Elizabeth Cook, and husband of Jessie May Cook of Whittlesea. On 27 July 1915, at the age of 33, Phillip Cook enlisted in the AIF. He was killed in action at Bullecourt on 11 April 1917. Corporal Cook had no grave, but is remembered with honour at the Villers-Bretenneux Memorial, Somme, France.Illuminated address, framed - Record of Admiration and appreciation to Corporal PE Cook killed in action in 1917, during WWI. William Arthur Park, a Corporal in the 4th Field Artillery Brigade. He enlisted 15/07/1915 and his date of embarkation was 18/11/1915. William was awarded the Military Medal for gallantry in France. Upon returning to Australia he took up farming at Mininera in 1920 on land purchased prior to enlistment. He married Caroline Biggin.
