Artwork, other - earthwork, ephemeral, Ivan Cindric, Earthwork Heron, 1997
"This sculpture was inspired by the figures carved from the hillsides of the chalk downs in Britain. I wanted to produce a work that would become part of the landscape and was originally derived from the landscape. It is a white-faced heron which is a native water bird commonly found along the Merri Creek. The bird is looking upstream to the source of the creek and the other artworks along the creek."Made of scoria (a red-brown volcanic stone) laid in trenches, 'Earthwork Heron' was commissioned by the Merri Creek Management Committee as part of the Merri Creek Arts Plan and was donated to the City of Yarra in August 1997.Contemporary, LandartOutline of a Heron bird imprinted on a rolling hill in the landscape with volcanic stone (scoria). Accompanying plaque reads: 'This sculpture was inspired by the figures in the British Chalk Hills. I wanted Earthwork Heron to be derived from and become part of the landscape. Film - DVD, Brenton Manser, Rider and Writer- The Life of Lindsay, 2014
From website: "Shot at various locations by cinematographer Robert Tremelling under the direction of Brenton Manser, the docudrama Rider and Writer is based on poet Adam Lindsay Gordon’s life during the time he lived in South Australia and Victoria. Manser has been researching, planning and developing the script for the new film since February 2012. Much of the footage for Rider and Writer has been shot in Mount Gambier, Port MacDonnell, Penola, Coleraine and Warrnambool. Jakin Manser has the leading role of Adam Lindsay Gordon, and former Grant High School drama teacher, David Reed, returned to Mount Gambier to act in the film, cast as John Riddoch, wealthy pastoralist and friend of Gordon. After 50 commended performances playing Riddoch in the stage production ‘Reckless’, Reed had retired. However, he was enticed by Manser to revive the character for the film."With a bust of Adam Lindsay Gordon in Westminster Abbey, London, his story is of national and international significance. Only one other film about Gordon is known to exist, produced in 1916. Allan Childs, curator of Gordon’s former residence ‘Dingley Dell’ is excited by the project: ‘To have a film that is made with the latest high definition equipment will bring the story of this famous poet alive to a new generation. We’ve come a long way since the black and white silent movies of 1916.’ The film premiered in Mount Gambier on 30 August 2014.adam lindsay gordon, brenton manser, robert tremelling, docudrama, 2014 -

Article - Peterborough Hotel Co operative Proposal, Approx 1965 - 1966
The hotel was an important social hub which burnt down in 1965. In order to rebuild a committee was co ordinated with the intention of re-building the hotel and running it as a co-operative. Significant as this document records the plan to rebuild the hotel, including costings. Ultimately the plan did not proceed but provides an insight into the value of the hotel perceived by the town. People involved include the vendor of the land, D.W.G. (Des) Moore; and committee members who probably included Tom Austin, Des Moore, Wokka Moore, possibly Rod Calvert. Poster - Sandcastle Competition Annual Advertising Posters
The Peterborough Sandcastle competition has been running for at least 80 years. Wokka Moore was the first "Lady Mayoress", judge of the competition, who arrived with great ceremony using different means of transport over the years - always accompanied by a "Lady in Waiting". Traditionally, this was held on the Australia Day long weekend. Competition was divided into age groups, and the venue depended on whether the river was open or closed. (If it was open there is no sand on the Front Beach). Materials used could only be what was found on the beach. Currently (2021) the Sandcastle Committee is calling for photos, memorabilia and details of winners from over the years. This event has been running for a very long time , apparently uninterrupted. It is significant to the town because of its inclusive nature - there was high anticipation and planning by the children. The roles of Lady Mayoress and Lady in Waiting were keenly sought. Wokka Moore did the job for a long time then passed the baton. Others who were honoured over the years include Alec Calvert, eight posters of various sizes with hand drawn pictures, some with dates but not year of event.sandcastle competition, peterborough, peterborough sandcastle competition, traditional summer event peterborough -
