Carmichael & Weber, Auction of 40 Grant Street Malvern East, on 5th August 1995. Edith Boyd, Robin Boyd's mother, purchased this house in 1927 and called it Burdes. Edith Boyd later moved to East Burwood where she died on 31 March 1961.Robin's mother's house in pencil on the top.

Letter to Robin Boyd from Lesley Murray, Public Affairs Department, Royal Institute of British Architects enclosing the RIBA's printed program for 1971-72 session. It contains a session on 30 November titled 'A Night at the Opera: a commentary on the architectural scene including the Sydney Opera House' to be presented by Robin Boyd. Robin Boyd died on 16 October 1971. The manuscript for this lecture was unfinished at Robin's death in October 1971 (see item D506). It was published in 'Architecture Plus', 'Architecture Plus', Vol.1, No.7, August 1973. Letter plus enclosed A3 size poster with RIBA Programme for 1971-72.

The "Glenelg" sank off the coast of 90 mile beach after leaving Lakes Entrance with the loss of 37 lives, only three survived. The passengers had embarked on a cruise to the lakes. It was announced on the Evening News when the wreck of the Glenelg was found 100 years later. Piers Bateman (1947 – 2015) was an Australian landscape painter. He was a member of The Antipodeans, a group of Melbourne painters that also included Arthur Boyd, David Boyd, Charles Blackman, John Brack, Robert Dickerson, John Perceval and Clifton Pugh. In March 2010 he was appointed Artist in Residence as an Honoray Professor for painting at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art under Fudan University in Shanghai, China. There are three parts: (i) A letter from Hector Crawford to Robin Boyd (8 December 1959) confirming agreement regarding production rights, profits and use of Robin Boyd's invention of the 'Sound Illustrator', plus a letter from Clement Hack and Co (Patent Attorneys) to Hector Crawford (10 December 1959), confirming lodgment of Patent Application for ‘Sound Illustrator’ in the joint names of Robin Boyd and Hector Crawford Productions. (ii) a document 'Specification of Patent Application' (7 December 1959) provides a detailed description of its operation (five pages).The invention is an "apparatus for producing synchronised audio-visual effects" (iii) Penleigh Boyd, Robin Boyd's son, has provided an explanatory illustration of the apparatus. Frederick Romberg wrote a personal record of the Grounds Romberg and Boyd partnership (nicknames Gromboyd) and the subsequent Romberg and Boyd partnership, covering 1953 - 1971 and with some detail for later years up till 1983. The two volumes contain transcripts of a selection of correspondence between the partners, as well as some explanatory text. The first volume covers the establishment of the partnership in 1953 to 1956-57 when Robin Boyd was Visiting Bemis Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (see item D269). Volume two continues from 1957 covering all the later years – the NGV project, the break-up of the partnership in 1963, the formation of Romberg and Boyd, Robin Boyd's death and Romberg's years in Newcastle (1965-1975) and his return to Melbourne.Bound hard cover booklet, with approx 114 foolscap pages, typed photocopy.

The American Institute of Architects Critic's Medal to Robin Boyd. This letter from Dr John Ritchie, General Editor of the Australian Dictionary of Biography informs Patricia Boyd Davies that Robin Boyd's biographical entry will be included in Volume 13 of the Australian Dictionary of Biography. In 1952-53, Robin Boyd designed the Stegbar ‘Windowall’ - a prefabricated, structural framing/glazing system - to create a wall of windows. These ‘Windowalls’ were used extensively in domestic architecture across Australia from the 1950s to the 1970s. Boyd also designed the factory and showrooms for Stegbar Limited. In 2003, the then RAIA established the National 25 Year Award. The Boyd House II at 290 Walsh Street won the award in 2006.
