Made by a German POW about 1944-45 and given to WO11 R. E. O'Hara. R. E. O'Hara, father of the donor, was a WO11 in the POW camp. He left Tatura at the end of the war when he was posted to Manus Island for the war crimes trials against the Japanese. He continued in the Army until 1952. WO11 R. E. O'Hara VX5293. Made in camp 13, the book is a manuscript of the play "Es Tut Sich Was Um Mitternacht" (it does that at midnight) character sketches and lighting plans. Book was sent to Germany to be exhibited at a Red Cross exhibition of POW activities. Play written by Adolf Wilke.Hard cloth covered loose leaf book secured at spine with brown leather ties. Made in Camp 13 by a POW.Rectangular light and dark wood cigarette case. One side has 2 birds sitting on 2 rings and 2 flowers on stems. The other side has a diamond inlay into triangles of different shades of brown wood. A small green square opens a slide lid to allow access to cigarettes. No 94 included 26 gall of wine, 9 drums of fruit in an advances state of fermentation, flex copper wire, clothing, petrol motor and miscellaneous cameras and wireless parts.
