Josef Thum was an Austrian artist in Camp 13 as a POW. Ken Hill was a member of AAAS - Mobile Cinema unit 36 around 1046-47 and based at Murchison. After hostilities ceased, Thum was permitted to assist in the presentation of "Pictures" as was the common term of the period, each time there was a screening at Murchison.

Tatura Rural Services operated in Tatura for many years and was located in Ross Street, virtually opposite the water tower. Business was owned by Bill Brown and later sold to Ritchie Trevaskis.
