Rev. E. H. Chapple (1866 - 1956) was educated at the University of Melbourne, and was ordained a Wesleyan minister. He was admitted Presbyterian in 1904. Matte, black and white 3/4 studio portrait of Rev. Edward Henry Chapple who is standing and looking directly at the camera. He is dressed in an academic gown over his clerical suit and collar and is holding a rolled document in his left had. The photograph has a grey which has a gold border and a black and gold script inscription. Historical Details: . Description: In 1953 Dr Henry Millicer entered and won, from 103 other contestants, a competition held by the Royal Aero Club of Great Britain for a two seat light aircraft. A small team was formed to build a wooden prototype, VH-FMM, which first flew in March 195. Level of Importance: Regionalvictor airtourer

Date is approximate. In 1920 this became the home of Mr and Mrs Robert Moore, whose daughter Mabel Annie married Norman Brodley Carter of Mont Albert. The house was named after 'Glenisla', a western District grazing property located between Hamilton and Horsham on the Henty Highway and on the edge of the Grampians National Park. This was established as a super-fine wool stud in 1860 and was passed down the family until it was sold in 1922. The family transferred from this property to Melbourne. Robert is listed as a grazier in the 1924 electoral roll at Chestnut Street. With him are Victor Cecil listed as a carpenter; Isabella, Mabel Annie and Edgar Gilbert listed as an orchardist. In 2003 the house was extant minus the verandas. This photo may have been taken from the rear of the property. Annie Meredith Nicholls, a daughter of William Henry Nicholls (1845-1902) and Annie Nicholls (nee Smith, 1847-1900) of Linton, worked for Mr. George Smith, who ran a stationery and newsagency shop at what is now 88 Sussex Street, Linton. When George Smith died in 1900, he left most of his estate, including the shop, to Annie Nicholls, then aged nineteen. Annie continued to run the shop and in 1903 she married George Brown, who was working at Mt Bute station at the time. They had seven children - Laurie, Victor, Ivy, Noelene, Annie, Ethel and Verna. In the early 1920s Annie became too unwell to run the shop, which was taken over by Walter and Katie Bonthorn and then by Ruby Sandow.
