This is the handbook for the third annual Victorian Museums & Galleries Conference held in Warrnambool. The conference was run in conjunction with Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village which was celebrating its 40th anniversary. Warrnambool Art Gallery was one of the sponsors of the conference. This handbook is of interest as it tells us of the activities and speakers at a conference which was held in Warrnambool in 2014 and which highlights particularly Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village and the Warrnambool Art Gallery. Colour transparency (slide) created in June 1976 during a tour by the Junior National Trust, which was led by members of Kew Historical Society. The collection of 21 slides reveals that the tour covered all parts of Kew, but focused understandably on heritage buildings and sites.Image of an historic place in Kew that can be dated to an exact time and place. The images, albeit amateurish in composition, frequently reveal aspects of important buildings and sites that have changed over time.35mm colour transparency of Raheen in Studley Park Road, Kew in 1976. The building of the house commenced in 1870, while major additions were made in 1884. The view is of the fence and tower. Presumably the photograph was taken from Studley Park Road. The property was still during this period the palace of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne. The bowl is decorated with a blue transfer print of a bird in reeds. The lid is decorated with the image of two birds sitting on a fence. On the underside of the bowl is the hallmark for Brown Westhead and Moore (BWM & Co) in Staffordshire, England about 1870. The pattern name is Canova. On 28 March 1981 the Ballarat College of Advanced Education 1870 Founders hall was opened. The hall was erected from the proceeds of the Centenary Appeal, held in 1975. It cost approximately $800,000. The hall commemorates the initiative of the founders of the original Ballarat School of Mines and its "descendants", including Ballarat College of Advanced Education, as well as formal technical education in Australia. The hall plans were to erect a building to accommodate 670 persons in a theatre type seating arrangement and to be used for multi-purpose use by community groups as well as by the College. Construction of the hall commenced in 1978. It was opened approximately 110 years after the Ballarat School of Mines (26 October 1870) and 10 years after the opening of the Mt Helen Campus (31 October 1870)..1) Morgan B.
