Ski-Horizon is the official journal of the Federation of Victorian Ski Clubs which began publication in 1949. The were 26 original member clubs which included Albury Ski Club, Bogong Ski Club, Myrtleford Ski Club, Tallangatta and District Ski Club and Wangaratta Ski Club. Two pioneers of Falls Creek, Tom Mitchell, M.L.A., and Martin Romuld were Vice-Presidents of the Federation.This Journal is significant because it documents the early development of skiing in Victoria.The journal features stories and events chronicling developments in Victoria and internationally. Items related to the Falls Creek Area in this publication include:- Page 2: Concerns about progress in Falls Creek in the coming year with programme cuts in SEC Copperhead snake killed in snow on High Plains similar to a feat by Elyne Mitchell in 1936. The Albury Football Club - the Albury Tigers, is a football club with a long history. In 1895 to 1902 the club was a member of the Ovens and Murray Football League. Between 1895 and World War 1, Albury won three premierships and was runner-up six times. For a period of time the Albury Football club was in recess, then was included at different times in the Rutherglen & District Football Association and the Albury and Border Football Association. In 1924, after playing under s variety of names the Albury Football Club re-entered the Ovens and Murray Football League and has played with that league until the present, apart from 1941 to 1945 when it went into recess as a result of World War 11.A publication created for the centenary celebration of the Albury Football Club in 1995. It contains a detailed timeline, player profiles, lists of life members, premiership wins and Best & Fairest winners. Wendy STAVRIANOS (1941- ) Born Melbourne, Victoria Since 1967 Wendy Stavrianos has held regular solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. She initially trained at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and was awarded a Diploma of Fine Art in 1961, followed by a Master of Art (Fine Art) from Monash University in 1997. The art of Wendy Stavrianos has an intensity which permeates the surface into the imagery that expresses her deeply felt inner progress, while acknowledging and calling upon the figurative associations of her outward journey. Vision Through Darwin' was completed during the artist's term as lecturer at Darwin Community College (1973-1975), and is the result of experiencing and surviving Cyclone Tracey om December 1975. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection.
