Significant in being a roster rotation sheet that was corrected and reissued a short time later. Shows how the crews were organised in relation to their work and total times worked.Single sheet of off white duplicating paper titled "Rotation Roster S.134/ R.1 25/8/70". Printed by wax cut stencil or Gestetner method. Details the run number that an employee would do for a particular week and day of the week and the total hours mins worked that week. Has a number of pin hole in the corners and centrally showing that it was used on a board. Has minor changes in ink at the bottom of the sheet that lead to Reg item 2294. See also Reg. Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways crewing arrangements, when standby's were available to cover crews who did not report in or left early or unavailable or running late. Allowed the inspectors to know when crews were available to cover late running etc. Produced for the Sept. 1966 rosterLarge format carbon copy typed sheet - titled "Stand by" dated 29th August 1966. Gives Run and time along the top heading and then broken up into each run for Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays showing in a line chart form the standby times for each run, including conductors. Ephemera - Weekly ticket, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), SECV 2/6 weekly ticket, 1940's?
Yields information about the use, style and printing of weekly tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented during the late 1940's prior to abolition.Used SECV 2/6 weekly ticket, ticket numbers B 144630. Originally printed and stapled into blocks of 20 tickets. The ticket is printed on a manila 210gsm card and printed using red ink to give day numbers, monthly, week number, transfers, and day of the week, excluding Sunday. Numbered on the right end of the ticket. Static number (1 - 7) on left indicates maybe the day of the issue. The ticket has been nipped in the day spaces 10 times and has been nipped for the month of August and week 3. On the rear of the ticket is the details of the ticket use, allowing the passenger one return journey between City and section 3 or 4. Not available on Sundays. Functional Object - Point Bar, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), 1960's
Length of 5/8ths of inch or approx. 15.5mm diameter steel bar, which has been heated and formed at one end to give an eye approx. 32mm internal diameter and hammered and ground to form a point edge at the opposite end forming a point bar. Used by Ballarat Tram crews to change tram track points. Standard equipment to all tramcars (two each). This particular point bar was reportedly located at the Lydiard St. and Sturt St. intersection for use by inspectors and other tram crew to change the points at this intersection without obtaining a point bar from the tramcar itself. Taken by a Brisbane Tramway Museum Society member at the time of closure. The point bar was repainted by the BTMS in the green colour scheme prior to presentation to the BTPS/BTM during the 1992 COTMA Perth Conference to Carolyn Dean. Typed table card or run card, for Geelong Trams Run 129 glued and varnished onto a sheet of three ply timber - plywood. Galvanised sheet steel with top & bottom holes(central) & side mounting brackets & rounded corners. Painted with black base and white letters and lines used to indicate which depot track(Line) trams were to be parked or stabled on when returning to the depot.
