Conductor in a short sleeved shirt, is standing at front of tram talking to the driver. AMP and CML buildings in background. Tram has been fitted with dash canopy lighting, but not the enlarged white strip. Black and white photograph of ESCo. tram No. 18. Date unknown, but post 1912, as windscreens for the drivers have been fitted and tram converted for one man operation. Does not appear to have track brakes. Has "Suttons Pianos & Players." advertisement on roof side. This ad was used as the basis for the roof ads on the Horse Tram. Weather blinds - one in rolled up position, the other rolled down. Photo taken to illustrate this? Ex Ray Bruce Collection, late 1980's. Yields information about the a street procession or parade during the 1920's clothing and that a tram was parked to one side.Black and White photograph, of a Labour Day procession in the east end of Sturt St, near Grenville St, during the 1920's. Shows many people, mainly women in 1920's style clothing, watching the procession or parade, standing on either side of the northern half of the street, while a horse drawn car with a person dressed in a long beard proceeds along the street. On the tram track is ESCo tram with a large destination box parked. The tram has a Bushell's Tea on the front panel. Photographic illustration of South Australian Railways Locomotive No. 620, the has been printed onto card and then cut out in the form of outline of the locomotive. Printed in green ink and then over printed in a silver ink to highlight the locomotive. On the rear of the illustration has been printed details of the locomotive (Light Pacific Engine), designed and built at SAR's Islington Workshops. Gives details of the locomotive, SAR's service. Notes that SAR has given 80 years of service. Printed by the Government Printer Adelaide. Reference -"Kings of the Iron Horse" by David Burke, page 164 -5 - gives details of the launch of the locomotive, 'Sir Winston Dugan', then Governor of South Australia. Photo of the launch and locomotive on opposite page 196. Would probably have been made for the launch of locomotive or soon after. Black and white print from the State Library of Victoria, June 1999 of a horse tram crossing the intersection of Sturt and Lydiard Street Ballarat c1890. Tram is travelling east to Grenville St. on the south side of Sturt St. (wrong side these days). Has the Ballarat Post Office building in the background with buildings on the north east side of Sturt St. as well. Has a number of horse drawn cabs in photo and women in white clothing holding umbrellas over their head indicating a hot day. In the right hand side of the photo is the statue of poet Robert Burns. Has number "530" in the bottom left hand corner of photograph. State Library Multimedia Source Catalogue gives the photographer as Charles Rudd, 1849 to 1901, date of photo 1889-1891. Ticket printed on 200 gsm white cardboard featuring ESCO opening postcard ticket (Reg. Item 608) for the BTM's celebration of 100 years of Electric Trams on 25/9/2005. Ticket No. 0001. Eight hundred were printed. On the front of the ticket has spaces for fare type and charge, electric tram and horse tram and on rear has BTM logo, validity date, purpose, ESCo postcard ticket history. Black and white photograph of Ballarat No. 32 soon after arrival at the Lydiard St. terminus on 23/7/1961. Tram showing SPECIAL on a Victorian School Railway Clubs Association Tour (VSRCA). Photo taken by Dave Macartney. Date was shown as 25/7, but later corrected - 12/2006 Tram has Cinzano roof advertisements and advertisements for White Horse Whiskey and The Age newspaper on the front dash panel. In the background is the shelter at the terminus. Photo also shows the trolley pole pan placed at a terminus to assist with the location of the trolley pole at night.
