These three badges were issued as fund raisers on Children's Day in 1918,1919 and 1941. The Children's Flower day arose out of the League of Young Gardeners established in 1916 to assist the war effort by encouraging children to cultivate garden plots at home and at school. The Children's Flower Day included lectures and lessons at school related to garden cultivation. A medallion presented to Private A. C. Wilson by the residents of Broadford, Victoria. These medallions were presented to local men who had enlisted for service as they returned from World War 1 in December 1919. The medallion is made of gold (9 carat) and has an olive wreath around the circumference. A small loop is provided to attach the medallion to a chain or similar. In this case the medallion is attached to a fob watch chain commonly worn by men when dressed formally. The chain is also made of gold.

Part of the collection purchased by the City of Portland from Kurtze's museum. Brendon Kurtze believed it was from the 'Constant', but the wreck was later proven to be the 'Regia' by V.A.S.Wooden painted figurehead believed to be from the barque 'Regia' (built 1835). Painted white female with floral wreath in hair, holding a scroll in both hands, sash over right shoulder, diamond-shaped object on ribbon around neck, beaded necklace, dress with puffed short sleeves, bare arms, hair set in curls and a bun on the back of head. Many families at this time obtained and framed these military service certificates. This was part of the empire spirit of 1914. The prose at the top of the certificate is a quote from Act 5 scene 7 of William Shakespeare's "King John".Black and white certificate commemorating the war service of former WHS student Lt. Steel. Presented by Lieutenant-General Sir JJ Talbot Hobbs, KCB, KCMG, VD, LLD at a parade held on the Esplanade, Perth, 22 October 1927. With the re-activation of the Citizen Military Forces (CMF) following the Second World War, the 11th/44th Infantry Battalion (The City of Perth Regiment) was raised as a linked battalion in 1948 to carry on the identity and traditions of the pre-war 11th and 44th Battalions respectively. The King's and Regimental Colours formerly held by these two battalions were passed on to the new battalion who paraded them in rotation on ceremonial occasions. Under major reorganisation of the CMF in 1960, all individual infantry battalions that existed at the time within each State were amalgamated to form State regiments, taking effect from 1 July 1960. Thus from that date the 11/44th, 16th and 28th Infantry Battalions were amalgamated to form The Royal Western Australia Regiment. In September 1960, at a ceremonial parade held at Northam Camp, the Colours carried by all former battalions were handed over for safe keeping by the new regiment. These former colours were subsequently laid up in the undercroft at the State War Memorial, King's Park on 29 November 1964. These were transferred to the Army Museum of WA in 1988 as part of the Bicentenary Colours Project. Dark green with gold fringes. In the centre the battalion colour patch of a white over blue oval within a circle inscribed "FORTY FOURTH INFANTRY", the whole within a wreath of Australian wattle and surmounted by the Imperial Crown. The 1888 Centennial International Exhibition, celebrating a century of Australian settlement, surpassed even the grand scale of the1880 Melbourne International Exhibition. It attracted over two million people, but the Victorian government had to spend £250 000 on it, ten times the amount estimated. The exhibition had a distinctively imperial focus, and a greater emphasis on culture than in 1880, particularly on music and painting (1). He resigned in 1905 and moved to Melbourne where he died in 1917. Mr Gadd was a prominent member of the Masonic Lodge. It is not clear why he was awarded this medal.The bronze medal of the Centennial International Exhibition awarded to S.G. Gadd. The Royal Warrant assigning the Armorial Bearings to Victoria was signed on the 6th June, 1910 by King George V. The motto Peace and Prosperity was the first to be in English among the Arms of any Public Authority in Australia. In 1958 the Pink Heath was proclaimed as the floral emblem of Victoria. This led to a request to have it included somewhere in the Armorial Ensigns of the State. The solution was to have the plant shown growing from a grassy mound. On the 28 March 1973 Queen Elizabeth II signed a further Royal Warrant which added the mound. This shield is the official emblem of the State of Victoria. It can only be displayed in limited place such as Law Courts and Victorian Government offices with permission of the Victorian Government.2 Victorian Coat of Arms from the Victorian State Government offices in Wodonga. The kangaroo at the top holds a crown. The shield also features the Southern Cross. Two female figures represent Peace and Prosperity. Medallion awarded to surviving members of Australian forces who served on the Gallipoli Peninsula during 25 April 1915 to January 1916. Recipient enlisted 07 June 1915 and was taken on strength of the 4th Australian Light Horse Regiment at ANZAC on 14 October 1915. He arrived at Alxandria on 27 December 1915. Subsequently served in France, and was discharged, in London, 24 January 1920. Returned to Australia, departing United Kingdom 06 May 1921. Cast bronze, approximately 75 mm high and 50mm wide. The obverse depicts Simpson and his donkey carrying a wounded soldier, with '1915' . It is bordered on the lower half by a laurel wreath above the word ANZAC. The reverse shows a map in relief of Australia and New Zealand superimposed by the Southern Cross. The lower half is bordered by fern leaves. In 2015 due to All Saints Cathedral being sold, the Bendigo Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum expressed interest in having the 38th Battalion Colours relocated to the museum. Under the direction of RSM Ceremonial, the colours were ceremonially placed by 8/7 RVR members and dedicated by Bishop Peter Curnow on 31st July 2015. Custodians of the colours were representatives of the Bendigo and District RSL, the 38th Battalion Association and the Passchendaele Barracks Military Historical Society. ANZAC Day 2021 The Ukrainian Association Sunshine (UAS), joined other community organisations in commemorating ANZAC Day on April 25th 2021. UAS members gathered at the Sunshine RSL cenotaph for the Dawn Service during which, President Andrew Makohon and Oksana Makohon laid a wreath on behalf of the Ukrainian Community. Members and families later gathered at the UAS Hall in Ardeer for a flag raising ceremony and breakfast. Our youngest members took part in raising and then lowering the Australian and Ukrainian flags to half mast, learning about the significance of the ceremony and the importance of Australia’s National Day of Remembrance.
