This medal was issued to schools in Victoria to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip to Australia. They arrived in Sydney on 3february 1954 and left from Freemantle on 1 April 1954.Significant to the history of the state of VictoriaMedal has conjoined busts, Queen crowned, Duke head bare, facing right; around, QUEEN ELIZABETH II DUKE OF EDINBURGH; below in tiny letters the mint name, STOKES MELB.
