DH5 Diesel Hydraulic locomotive The DH class was a class of diesel-hydraulic locomotives built by Walkers Limited, Maryborough for Queensland Railways between 1966 and 1974. In 1966 Queensland Railways tested a Walkers Limited built diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotive. This was later purchased and by 1974 the 73 DH class locomotives had taken over shunting duties in most Queensland yards. They were also used on short distance freight services. With the closure of many freight yards and the move to longer trains withdrawals started in the 1980s. Many were sold for further use on Queensland sugar cane railways. The 1884-1885 Directory was the first year of publication for the Middleton and Manning's Gippsland Directory. It was first published by Ale Middleton and Francis Beresford Manning. Beginning with advertisements from local businesses of the time, this is followed by a short gazetteer of places around the region, as well as general information on the districts of Gippsland. The main part of the Directory consisting of about 100 pages, is the Alphabetical Directory. Listed alphabetically by surname under each region, this lists heads of household (mostly male but there are a few females mentioned), together with their occupation and address.The list includes farmers, labourers, coach painters, dairywoman, teacher, saddler, brickmaker, merchant, laundress, hotel keeper, minister of religion, dressmaker, grocer, grazier, gasfitter, seedsman, coachbuilder, engineer, auctioneer, upholsterer, fowler, journalist, surveyor, musician, traveller, watchmaker, solicitor, restaurant keeper, blacksmith and miner. These plans have been drawn by Steve Hester for the Warrnambool City Council to illustrate the allotments in Warrnambool concerned with the subdivisions of 1989. The streets have not been named but there is an indication of the area with the identification of known buildings (eg Hospital) and the plan numbers of each allotment is clearly marked. These numbers corresponded to the plan numbers registered in card files and ledgers in the Warrnambool City Council offices. The scale of the plans was 1 to 5000. These plans are of considerable interest because they show Warrnambool street subdivisions of 1989 in illustrative form. They show how information was collated in the late 1980s before the widespread use of computer digital means to describe and store information.These are five hand-drawn sheets showing plans of sub-divisions in Warrnambool streets in 1989 (Warrnambool City Council material). The plans are multi-coloured (crayons) and show allotments with plan numbers. The first plan has much of the material torn off but the location is known to be in the Russells Creek area. Some of the green tape around the edges is missing. Plans two to five are almost intact and are bound with green tape. Item on the 2022 Eltham Festival held April 2023 which had been postponed due to Alistair Knox Park being waterlogged from substantial rainfalls. In July/August 2023, Eltham Rotary advised they were cancelling the 2023 Eltham Festival as the budget did not cater for two festivals to be held in the same year. A late afternoon storm on Christmas Day 2011. A flash flood occurred from significant rain fall and hail, which accumulated along an old waterway with floodwater submerging cars along Valonia Drive then down Grove Street flooding houses, through the Bible Street Reserve where it then submerged Main Road washing away the small railway trestle bridge opposite the reserve then flooding the Judge Book Village before finally entering the Diamond Creek.
