" On 17 December 1915,a famous game of cricket was played at Shell Green,Anzac,as Turkish shells passed overhead. The batsman, Major George MacArthur Onslow, 7th Light Horse Regiment NSW,has just been caught out. The game was part of the various deceptions planned to deceive the Turks that all was normal at Anzac while the evacuation was being carried out". Shell Green was the only piece of flat ground for the game to be played on. -

... number TYE 3-200. 1796.2 - 17/6, Scholar under 18 years, Ticket... number TYE 3-200. 1796.2 - 17/6, Scholar under 18 years, Ticket ...Set of five yellow cloth back paper tickets with white front, printed in black ink, with price and number shown on the ticket. Space for an expiry date to be stamped on the ticket and name, address and school of the student. The June 1963 Fare Schedule (Reg. Item 1731) shows these tickets. They were replaced by a new scheduled issued August 1965 (Reg. Item 1732). All these tickets have been over stamped with a blue "CANCELLED" stamp. 1796.1 - 12/6, Scholar under 15 years, Ticket No. A 007656, form number TYE 3-200. 1796.2 - 17/6, Scholar under 18 years, Ticket No. A 002654, form number TYE 3-210. 1796.3 to 1796.5 - as above, but all with Ticket No. A 002649 - could be printing error, from printers or set up check sheet.trams, tramways, secv, ballarat, schools tickets -

Photo of SEC tram no. 31 in Main St, Ballarat East, with destination of "Gardens via Drummond St." Tram has been fitted with dash canopy lighting, but not the large white strip under the lighting. Has small triangles on the panels. Also has a small ad for White Horse whisky. Shows buildings on either side of Main St. and the Caltex service station in the background on Main Road and Bridge St. Photo taken 23-6-1962. Copy made Oct. 2001 for the "gold, Gold GOLD" temporary exhibition - colour laser print onto card, with Velcro dots on rear. Stored in box D1 (Display Box) 02/2003. Has Eaglehawk Town Hall and Post office in background and war memorial. Tram showing destination of "Quarry Hill". Photo shows how tram line extended past the town hall with the white posts visible.
