Plan - Camberwell Panorama Estate, 1923
Subdivision plans and real estate flyers/brochures reveal a number of aspects of urban development and history. The Kew Historical Society's collection of these plans, as well as advertisements extracted from magazines, cover key aspects of community development and architectural history of Kew and Kew Eat as well as surrounding suburbs. While most of the plans in the collection were gifted to the Society by the former City of Kew, a number of other plans and advertisements have been donated by individuals, of which this is an example.Promotional brochure for the Camberwell Panorama Estate. The four page bifold handout advertises 216 home sites bounded by Bulleen Road, The Nook, Fortuna Avenue, and Doncaster Road. Other streets in the subdivision include: Sunburst Avenue, The Moor, and Macedon Avenue. The brochure has been damaged at some time in the past and so masking tape obscures the tram on page 1. Page 2 includes the plan of the subdivision, page 3 information about the site and a locality plan, while page 4 includes photographs and terms of sale. subdivision plans -- balwyn north (vic.), camberwell panorama estate -

News Sheet, Standard, 1980
This Holiday Guide was produced by the Warrnambool Standard with several articles contributed to the supplement by Sally Clark, the Warrnambool Tourist Promotion Officer. Holiday Guides were produced each year to assist and promote tourism in the area. The fact that Warrnambool had won the Premier Town Award for the years 1979-1982 was an added reason for tourists to come to the region and this fact was used as an advertising tool. Warrnambool won the Premier Town Award in 1988 for the third time. This Holiday Guide is of some interest as it shows what was considered the best places for tourists to visit in the Warrnambool region in 1980. The advertisements are also of some value for recording the business life of the city in 1980. This is a 40 page Holiday Guide published by the Warrnambool Standard newspaper in 1980 featuring tourist spots of Warrnambool and district. It includes black and white photographs, maps and advertisements. ‘Warrnambool Premier Town,1979-1982, The Standard, Warrnambool, Holiday Guide 1980’premier town awards, victoria, warrnambool -

Souvenir, A Souvenir of Beautiful Bendigo, c. 1940
As tourism and touring grew in the early and mid 20th century, sending letters and postcards was one of the main forms of communications friends and family would use to share their travels and remind loved ones that they were thinking of them while away. Bendigo's geographic location in central Victoria and relatively closeness to Melbourne has meant that capturing the tourist dollar has been an important focus for promotional activities of the City. Businesses such as Nucolorvue Productions serviced the need for high quality printed souvenirs such as these.Mass produced souvenir foldout 'views' of Bendigo packaged in an envelope. Inside contains six double sided postcard sized, hand tinted photographs highlighting local popular sites. Includes text describing Bendigo's geographic location and main industries and attractions.
