This postcard is part of an album of postcards which date from late 19th century to mid 20th century. Religion played a significant part in daily life at the time. This postcard is in an album of postcards dating from the late 19th century to mid 20th century and, as such, indicate the popularity of collecting postcards in Australia which reached a height in the early 1900s until around 1920.This postcard depicts the scene of Mark 10: 13-16 from the bible, where Christ meetings a group of children. On front, printed under image: 'Christ Blessing Little Children / St. Mark 10: 13-16' On back, printed above line: 'Christ Blessing Little Children' On back, printed below line: 'THEY brought young children to / Jesus, that He should touch them: / and His disciples rebuked those that / brought them. / But when Jesus saw it, He was much / displeased, and said unto them, "Suffer / the little children to come unto me, and / forbid them not; for of such is the / kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, / Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom / of God as a little child, he shall not enter / therein." / And He took them up in His arms, / put His hands on them, and blessed / them. / So that day the mother helped the / disciples to learn about Jesus. The dis- / ciples thought the children would be a / trouble, but the mothers knew that Jesus / loved the little and helpless ones, and / would bless them, for one day He had / said, " All who seek to enter the kingdom / of heaven must become like little chil- / dren." So they were not afraid to draw / near.'postcard, 1900s, "green postcard album" -

Household, Union Jacks, 1950s
These Union Jack flags are believed to have been used in the celebrations in Warrnambool on the occasion in 1953 of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11 (oral tradition only). Warrnambool celebrated with street parades, shop decorations and displays, concerts, church services and dinners. It was customary at the time to use the British flag more than the Australian one. These flags are retained because of their possible connection to mid 20th century Warrnambool celebrations (1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11).These are seven Union Jack flags made of cloth with red, white and blue colouring. The flags are pasted on to thin circular-shaped wooden sticks. The flags are a little worn, especially near the pasted sections and some of the colours are rubbed. coronation of queen elizabeth 11, history of warrnambool -

Booklet, Samuel Baulch and the Original Rose Park
This booklet contains the first draft of an article on Samuel Baulch’s acquisition of his property, Rose Park which was in the Macarthur/Hawkesdale district. Samuel Baulch’s parents, Francis and Ann Baulch were pioneer settlers in the Kirkstall area and Samuel worked at the Dunmore Station in the Macarthur area before purchasing the property he named Rose Park in the early 1870s. In the 1890s he acquired property in the Dunmore Estate. Samuel’s son, Stan Baulch, acquired sections of the Dunmore property after his father’s death and he named his section, Rose Park, a property to the west of the original Rose Park. This article is of historical interest and will be useful to researchers of local and family history. This is a booklet of 18 pages. It has a paper cover and the pages were originally stapled together but now have a plastic clip. The booklet has been home-produced and the material typed on a computer. Some of the pages are a little stained. samuel baulch, rose park, western victoria, history of warrnambool -

Chisel, Late 19th century
This item is one of several tools that are believed to have belonged to the Warrnambool carpenter and businessman, Henry Phillips. English-born Henry Phillips (1821-1896) came to Australia with his wife Elizabeth in 1849. They lived for some time in Port Fairy. In 1865 Henry formed a partnership with Christopher Beattie and established the Warrnambool undertaking business of Beattie and Phillips. This business continued on after the deaths of the founders and lasted until the year 2000. In Warrnambool Henry Phillips was involved in the management of the Mechanics Institute. This tool is retained as an example of a vintage tool and as a memento of the Warrnambool carpenter and businessman, Henry Phillips. This is a chisel with a wooden handle that is in two segments and has a groove in the centre. The end of the handle has a cylindrical piece of tin attached. The chisel inserted into the handle is metal with a straight edge. The metal is a little rusty and there are traces of paint on the handle. vintage tools, henry phillips, warrnambool, history of warrnambool -

Administrative record - Baker's Ledger Twites bakery, Max Cust, mid 20th century
This ledger was used in the business of Twites Bakery which was in Timor Street Warrnambool and dates from the 1940s or 1950s. Max Cust, a breadcutter and relief driver at Twites, used this ledger to record the bread delivered in the South Warrnambool area. He lived in Banyan Street, Warrnambool and worked at Twites for a great number of years. This ledger is of interest as an example of the way bread deliveries were recorded in Warrnambool in the mid 20th century and tells us a little about many of the people living in South Warrnambool at that time. This is a ledger of 285 pages. It has a green thick card cover with tan leather spine and corners. The cover is scratched and stained and a couple of corners are a little tattered. The pages are ruled and contain handwritten names and delivery details in ink.warrnambool bakeries, twites bakery, max cust baker
