Demonstrates, yields information and has a strong association with the individual conductors on the day that the revenue journals were compiled. Shows the total revenue and passengers and how the passengers were counted. Demonstrates the system used to compile revenue returns and passenger numbers.Set of 34 completed "Revenue Journals", for recording the value of tickets sold by Conductors. Compiled for the 11/3/1971, "D" tin. Shows how the forms were completed and who was on duty that day. Have been signed by each conductor. Numbers of checks issued varies from 6 to 499. Outfit 41D has notes regarding a school passenger. Gives the totals, cash returned and overs/under amounts. Has a metal folding pin near the top left hand corner of the sheet, with the cover giving details of the outfit and date. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented at the commencement of the SEC fare system. Generally issued c1966 following decimal currency, not formally used.Group of four different decimal values of used SEC Ballarat Tickets, ex the Wal Jack Collection. Tickets already held on the BTM system in blocks. Souvenir - Teaspoon, Perfection Plate, BTPS Teaspoon - tram 40 and 1, early 1990's
Souvenir Teaspoon featuring Ballarat tram No. 40 as the last ram in 1971 in an inset at the top of the tea spoon, and No. 1 Horse tram 1887 in the bowl of the teaspoon contained within a plastic case. The teaspoon made by Perfection Plate, of the Vista style or type. The case has blue plastic base, with clear top with the words "Vista by perfection" printed do top. On the rear of the case is the wording "Perfection". The teaspoon is silver plated, with the tram in a picture 15mm diameter on top and oval shaped in the bowl about 25mm long. The teaspoon is marked "Vista" on the rear, with "Perfection Plate Australia" along the handle of the spoon. Tea spoon is 112mm long x 25mm wide. Case is 125mm high, 32mm wide, by 16mm deep. Uniform - Cap, Commonwealth Government Clothing Factories Melbourne, early 1960's?
Demonstrates uniform cap manufacture. Appears to be unworn.SEC Motorman/Drivers/Conductors cap - green cloth exterior, grey cotton interior lining, brown leather internal hat band, black cotton hat band on exterior with a plastic band at the front half of the cap terminating in two small SEC metal buttons on either side, black plastic peak. Sewn on the inside is a label "Commonwealth Government Clothing Factories Melbourne" and stamped "6 1/2". On the right hand side of the inside of the brown band, stamped in gold is the Australian Coat of Arms and the words "A quality product / made in Australia / by the Dept. of Supply". Thirteen typed, foolscap size, page (carbon copy) of the Commonwealth Court of Arbitration decision and basis for this decision made 14/6/1955 by Conciliation Commissioner E.W. Tokin. Notes history of dispute, MMTB, SEC, Adelaide, Hobart, Launceston, Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong. Details basis for decisions of Contract of Employment, additional rates for trackman, time allowance at commencement and finish of duty, meals, training of traffic employees, special night allowances, margins. On bottom of page 5, the formal award commences: gives details of award duration, rates of pay, contract of employment, margins compared to the basic award, additional rates, hours of labour, shift work, overtime. holiday work, call forward and call back to duty, spread of hours, Saturday and Sunday work, special night allowances, time allowance at commencement and finish of duty, attending for duty, reporting for duty, meals, acting out of grade, surpluses and shortages, annual leave, sick leave, free travel uniforms, training of traffic employees, reports, union notices and punishments. Was stapled for all 13 pages with three staples on left hand side. Pages 10 to 13 have become unstapled. Contained within a heavy grey cardboard folder with "A.T.M.O.E.A Award as from 14.6.55" written on outside cover in black ink. Gives details of 38 tables or runs, numbered from 1 Run to 38 Run. Each sheet headed "Weekday", three runs per sheet. Saturdays - 1 to 34, Sunday - 1 to 10. Each sheet has in the top right hand corner LJD/3/70. Time table operated until the commencement of closure of the system. Poster of banner, "Ballarat Vintage Tramway 1971 - 1981" used in the opening of the new or depot extension 14/6/2001 at the depot at the opening on 19/9/1981. Painted using water based poster paint, onto a roll of white paper, with a green background, the words have been pained in yellow blue. Has been torn or broken centrally at the time of the launch.
