Journal or ticket record wallet, consisting of two very heavy and hard pieces of leather joined by a sewn (red cotton) lighter piece of leather to form foldable wallet. The outside covers have been polished. A brass plate "B 40" has been riveted to the cover and the letter "B" stamped above the brass plate. Lined notebook, 100 sheets, with marbleised cover, stapled with red Rexene quarter binding with two sheets marked up for each tram between 574 and 651 giving date inspected, overhaul dates and condition in a remarks column. 1947 to 1952 In the front of the book were many loose sheets giving authorisation for bus painting and repairs at Preston works, accident and maintenance repairs for specific buses. M&MTB Season Greetings Card 1926 – 1927. The card consists of a heavily embossed brown cover with the MMTB logo on the front cover, with a printed sheet internally and tied together with a green ribbon. The photographs have been overlaid with a gold borders and the message has been printed in gold ink. An experienced printer estimated it would have taken some two hours to hand set the message, the press operator another two hours to get the registration correct before printing it and after printing allowed up to four days for the gold ink to dry before handling the paper again. This is certainly a work of art in terms of printing. Whether it was done by the M&MTB’s internal printing office is unknown. Of the view it would have only been sent to “select” people. MMTB 2d ticket - black printing on green ink, 9 sections, punched for section 1A, ticket number D, Bk, 943866. Has a Bushels tea advertisement on rear. The donor advised that it was probably 1940's/1950's when went to school by tram Whitehorse Road, between Burke Rand Balwyn Road, though the ticket has been punched for a inner section.
