Yields information about costing by the SEC to upgrade the tram tracks and trams in both Ballarat and Bendigo and the basis.Copy of a report sent by the Melbourne office, Engineer and Manager SEC to the Manager Ballarat Branch, 12/2/1962, titled "Tramways - Ballarat / Bendigo Abandonment". Notes the 1934-37 rehabilitation was palliative in nature, and now must be "in to stay" or "eliminated". Melbourne costs given, the cheapest form adopted, Ballarat cost about 1million pounds and Bendigo 600,000. New cars imported about 20,000 each. Total cost based on 40 cars, about 2.5m pounds. Duplicated foolscap size paper, giving roster for motormen and conductors AM and PM rosters. This would be Pte James Andrew Condick No 15, enlisted 26.2.1916 age 30 years 7 months in D Coy 38th Bn, embark for England 20.6.1916, hospital in England he rejoins 38th Bn in the field on 15.1.1917, transfers to 3rd Div Salvage Coy 21.1.1917, WIA 30.4.1918 Gassed, he returns to Australia late 1919.This is a broad leather belt, made in 2 pieces, hemmed at top and bottom edge. It has a large rectangular buckle which is engraved. The belt has three tarnished silver shields which are engraved. Between the shields are diamond shaped "holes", red, white and blue alternatively. The buckle is engraved. There are blank spaces of 5 missing winner's or other shields.The buckle is engraved: - "Presented to Champion Boxer of 38th Regiment A.I.F. by the Bendigo Independent Pty Ltd. Victoria Australia." Printed postcard with a coloured image looking from the City Family Hotel over Charring Crossing and looking along Pall Mall. There are four tramcars in the view. Given the tram track colour, the photo was taken possibly soon after the opening the electric tramways in Bendigo in 1903. In the view is a gold mine poppet head, the Town Hall and the various buildings along Pall Mall. This demijohn was made by Bendigo Pottery for Sharpe Bros, brewers of non-alcoholic drinks such as Dandelion Ale, Ginger Beer and cordial. Sharpe Bros began in New Zealand and expanded to Australia in the early 20th century. The company was taken over by Cadbury Schweppes in 1972.An item made during the first half of the 20th century by a Bendigo pottery as a container made for the Sharpe's brewery in Victoria to contain their non alcoholic drinks for retail sale.Glazed stoneware bottle with dark brown glaze to top section, one gallon size, narrow neck glazed stoneware stopper and wire handle missing. Eugene and Annie Mary (Mollie) Sibson married in 1933 and both were associated with the Bendigo Hospital. Eugene held a the position of Medical Officer for 48 years and Mollie as a paid nursing sister until her marriage in 1933, although Mollie did continue to hold an unpaid position on the Board of Management of the Hospital for many years afterwards. Eugene was first elected to council in August 1976 and elected Mayor of Bendigo for the 1978 – 79 term at which time Mollie served as Mayoress.Set of three black and white photographs, individually mounted on card.
