The item was part of a group of photos relating to the Kew Presbyterian Church, so it may show a performance in which members of the church participated or led. The location of the performance is unclear; it might be at the Kew Recreation Centre or in the Kew Presbyterian Church Hall. Intriguingly, what look to be bunya bunya pines appear in the distance above the proscenium. The photograph was originally identified as possibly being the Kew Light Opera Company, however the photograph precedes its foundation. Reverend James Noble MacKenzie was born on 08/01/1865 on the Isle of Ewe and died on 02/07/2956. He arrived in Victoria in 1894. He served in Santo and Korea. He is notable for his work among lepers. The Presbyterian Church was built in 1871 by local contractor and grazier James Patterson of Nardoo Park, Woosang. The Presbyterian and Methodist Churches formed combined Parish in 1969. The buildings were demolished in 1989.Colour photograph of Charlton Presbyterian Church and Hall. The white-painted brick church building is on the right. The letters A . D 1871 in black are on the front of the church. There is also a bell tower, a small gothic arched window and a small round leadlight window on the front wall. The church hall is a white weatherboard building with blue trim. Red brick pillars stand at the entrance to the church and the hall. St. Matthew’s Presbyterian Church Stawell. Now United Church. This landmark of Stawell was opened on 11th April 1869. The tower and spire, overall height of 148 feet, cost 1352 pounds and was paid for by an early mine owner. In March 1869, a month before the Church was opened, the local paper reported that a large red flag on the top of the Presbyterian Spire meant that the last brick had been laid and the massive gilt ball and cross had been placed in position. The Church has some fine stained-glass windows. Two identical side views of a church with a tall steeple. These photos were taken from the original Post Cards in Album 13, p.41. The photo shows a Tennis Courts in foreground with a picket fence around the church. The box is lined with white satin in the lid and blue velvet in the box. The contains: G146.2 communion chalice; G146.3 and G146.4 patens; G146.5 - G146.8 two lidded communion wafer containers; G146.9 plastic communion wafer container with wafers; G146.10 oblong tray with central handle containing G146.11 - G146.18 eight communion glasses. The boxed with fitted out to hold all these items together with a bottle which is missing. The box has two plaques on its front.Plaque on lid: ""PRESENTED TO REV.
