We have not statement of significanceWooden framed black and white photograph of a two foot gauge steel rail line from the mill sight to Alexandra. This locomotive, a Kraus, steam engine (year ?)is passing through Lower Rubicon. It hauls three carriages with timber and on the side of the rail there are open boxes. A wooden house on Gilmore's family property is halfway up the hill. The property shows signs of damage of the recent Goulburn River flooding in 1916. This is a smaller version of the large framed photograph donated to the new City of Kew by Cr Wishart. The framed photograph was hung in the Walpole Street Town Hall. Presumably, each of the Councillors in the portrait was presented with a smaller version.This photograph was donated by a descendant of the Kellett family. This picture, like it framed counterpart, is historically significant as a record of a major civic event in Kew's history. It is also aesthetically significant as the last official photograph taken by the photographer Josiah Earl Barnes before his death in the same year.Kew Becomes a City, 1921. Josiah Earl Barnes, the photographer, posed the group in front of the Jubilee Rotunda in the Alexandra Gardens in Cotham Road, Kew. At the centre of the group in mayoral robes is the then mayor of Kew, Cr. F.G.A. Barnard. This was to be the last major commission by the Council for J.E. Barnes, who had been responsible for creating the series of 19th Century portraits of former mayors that was displayed in the Kew Town Hall in Walpole Street.J. E. This bowl is part of a series completed in 1994 on the subject of the sin of 'Vanity' / A smug looking woman flirts coquettishly with a manservant who helps her to put on her shoes / The people depicted on the bowl are dressed in 18th century costumes / The court of Marie Antoinette of France is evoked / The blue and white drawing is in the style of 18th century woodblock prints and was drawn freehand / The bowl is signed and dated on the base / The technique is traditional tin glaze (majolica, maiolica or delft) / Coloured oxides were painted onto a clear glaze which had been opacified with tin oxide, and then fired at 900 degrees / The bowl was exhibited at Christine Abrahams Gallery, Melbourne in 1994 / A bowl from the 'Vanity' series is held in the Collection of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, Tasmania. Copeland's parents are John and Betty Hipwell, one of the founding members of Potters Cottage (an influential ceramic collective that grew out of Nillumbik) / Copeland grew up surrounded by this artform. Reg Preston (another founding member of Potter's Cottage) introduced her to the Majolica technique which has influenced her ceramic work to this day / This bowl is characteristic of Copeland's speciality and mastery of the Majolica technique. This bowl is hand painted with an image of a couple flirting (man-left side and woman-centre) in 18th century French dress / Decorative circle and polka dot pattern along the rim and underside of the bowl / The bowl is predominantly painted in cobalt blue and orange colour using the Majolica (maiolica or delft) technique; a traditional tinglaze method of application. Alexandra Fountain is a fountain in the Australian city of Bendigo, Victoria. It is regarded as one of the city's most prominent landmarks and monuments The fountain is located in Bendigo's Charing Cross area at the intersection of View Street and Pall Mall. Charing Cross effectively stands at the centre of the city and is one of Bendigo's busiest and most prominent intersections. The fountain stands opposite the main entrance of Rosalind Park. Alexandra Fountain was funded from the proceeds of the Bendigo Juvenile Industrial Exhibition (1879), a £500 gift from George Lansell and a further £700 from the Sandhurst City Council (now the City of Greater Bendigo). The fountain was designed by William Vahland (1828–1915), a local architect responsible for some of the city's most prominent buildings. The fountain was named in honour of Alexandra, Princess of Wales.
