Photo donated by Margaret Clarke, daughter of Stanley D.Livermore who enlisted in 1915. Roll of Honor used to hang in Mechanics Institute Hall which was on the site now occupied by the Scout Hall, Canterbury Road, Vermont.|Ron Clarke took it home when old hall was pulled down. It was just about falling to pieces but Ron wired it up and photographed it. A cultural grant was given to Margaret BRIDE to implement this study, which she did with the help of her husband Graham and several residents of the study area including PMH&PS members Emily LOCK, David THOMPSON, Jack BOLT and Kerrie MATHEE.History of a Street Precinct, documenting 80 years plus of the history of the area bounded by Williamstown Road and Evans, Bridge and Farrell Streets, since 1880. One of two products of a 2005 project (which subsequently won the 2007 Victorian Local History Awards for research). An interactive CD containing information and photographs. This was packaged with a brochure (2148.01) containing a map of the area and photos and information on key properties and individuals on 91 buildings and their occupants over time.built environment -

Photograph - Army Survey Regiment Summer Ball - Warrant Officer and Sergeant and Guests Arrival, 1995
This is a set of 25 photographs taken at the combined Officer, Warrant Officer and Sergeant’s Mess Summer Ball held at the Army Survey Regiment (ASR), Fortuna Villa on the 25th of February, 1995. The Summer Ball was one of the last large scale formal functions held at Fortuna Villa before ASR’s closure the following year. Photos of personnel and their guests was taken on their arrival near the Pompeii Fountain in the gardens at the front of the main building. The Ball and Dinner was held at the rear of Fortuna Villa in temporary 20’ x 30’ Army tents set up on the roadway in front of the transport compound. SERCO contract staff provided the catering and the ASR’s Other Ranks performed stewarding and kitchen hand duties. Refer to item 6347 for information on the administrative file held in the collection and items 6370.23P, 6371.33P and 6373.36P for additional photographs taken at the Summer Ball.This is a set of 25 photographs taken at the Officer, Warrant Officer and Sergeant’s Summer Ball held at the Army Survey Regiment, Fortuna Villa on the 25th of February 1995. Jo Norman, born 3 March 1946, remembers her father ploughing, with a draught horse, the family's 5 acres and using a kiln to make roof tiles. Her siblings were Alison and Richard. The family was closely involved with St Margaret's Church and the church's lay activities. Jo attended Eltham Primary School, later working at the Bank of NSW until she married Graham Norman in 1967. In 1981, Jo and Graham established a cleaning business. She has been contributed to St Margaret's in various roles.
