Yields information about the accident involving Mr Dave Kellett and details of the accident with tram 37 which resulted in its withdrawal from service.Set of four items associated with the accident with the collision between Ballarat No. 37 and a truck loaded with baled hops on Thursday 15 April 1954, the tram driven by David Kellett, conductor Herbert Ward. Set of two bell cord supports from Melbourne cable trams. .1 - cast brass hanger with a screw hole on each side and a formed opening for the bell cord to pass through. .2 - as for .1, but with the letters "J S" on top of the formed opening - John Stephenson and Co of New York. Outlines the losses incurred by the SEC, replacement public transport system, the worn out nature of the system, the gifting of one Bendigo tramcar to the AETM, costs of track repairs and new trramcars, tenders for replacement bus services, retrenchment payments to staff, reconstruction of existing roads following removal of the tracks, and town planning and traffic aspects.
