Donated by Jean Cornell. It was owned by her Grandmother, Eliza Waite, who was born in Gippsland in 1867 & married a Cornish man John Tredilock & had five children. Eliza died in 1942 & grandfather died in 1945. Jean & her husband have lived in Mitcham since 1956.Cover made to hold knitting books. One side is hard board & the front cover is ply wood, handpainted with red (cottage) & green (trees). This model was inspired by the Morgan barn on the Marlo Road, Orbost. It was built by Chris Hodge for the launch of the book, "Barns of the Snowy River" ( Reg. No.2138)The slatted barns are unique to the Orbost district.A wooden model of a three-storeyed slatted barn. The scale is approximately 30:1.The roof is corrugated cardboard painted silver.
