Used at School of Mines Ballarat to carry ink to art classes. School of Mines Ballarat is a predecessor of Federation University.

Physical description

Stained wooden box with 12 holes for inkwells(usually white porcelain). Some ink smudges and space for nibbed pens. Light wood, ply base fixed with tacks and glue. Possibly known as an Ink well tray.

Inscriptions & markings

Labelled M 89/11. The number 2 is marked in black marker and circled.
