In The Netherlands the fiftieth birthday is celebrated as "seeing Abraham". This is a reference to a Gospel quote where Jesus was told he was too young to be teaching the people.
Physical description
Small square of three-ply on which is glued a slightly smaller ceramic tile carrying a Dutch saying. A small hole has been added in the back for ease of hanging. The mount appears to be hand-made.
