Demonstrates how suggestions to Management of the SEC depot were made by tram employees and has a strong association with the tram crews.Sign - made from sheet metal, folded and welded to provide a suggestion box for the Ballarat Tram Depot. Has the word "Suggestions" in large Red capital letters, a large tray or box for receiving the suggestions (not too sure how you got them out without undoing the sign and shaking the items - if any - out) and an area for an instruction to be displayed. Painted both sides in a cream colour (SEC tramway cream). Has two screw holes in the top corners. Set of 15 mixed SEC tickets found in a tramcar being worked on at the depot c1998 (possibly No. 18 or 28), information not recorded at the time. Tickets have been used and have varying degrees of dirt. The image file shows the nature of the damage. Tickets have not been individually numbered with the Registration Number, but can be identified by their ticket number and denomination. Block of 50 tickets - black ink on dark grey card, SEC Provincial tramways, Staff (employee) ticket, lettered Aa 002900 to Aa 002949, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways. The 50 tickets have been stapled within red card covers with a heavy metal staple and perforated 21mm from left hand edge. The ticket number is in black ink. The ticket could only be used by SEC employees on Commission business, was not transferable and only good for a single trip. Has form number "TYE 2-19". Badge - SEC pass, AMOR, Employees Pass badge No. 166, c1950?
Stamped enamelled round brass piece with a hole stamped at the top and ring placed through. Used as a SEC tramways employees pass. Has the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamelled and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways". This was in blue enamel. On rear stamped the number "166" and on base of badge letter "AMOR", assuming indicating who manufactured the badge. Is believed to be issued to Mr. Norm Pearson, Administrative Officer of the SEC. Set of 12 Stamped enamelled round brass pieces with a hole stamped at the top and ring placed through. Used as a SEC tramways employees pass for either all Provincial tramways, Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo only. All badges have the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamel and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways", or "Electric Tramways Ballarat" or "Electric Tramways Bendigo" or "Electric Tramways Geelong". This is in blue enamel. On the rear are stamped numbers and manufacturers name - "AMOR MELB" or "STOKES & SONS MELBOURNE" in the bottom portion of the pass, except .9 which is "STOKES" only. Demonstrates an aspect of the SEC method of advising fares and sections to the travelling public. Also gave a small map that would have been useful to crews to explain to visitors where things were. Used in tramcars when trimmed. This poster made for the 1966 or second last fare increase. A similar arrangement used on Bendigo tramcars.Dyeline print of a drawing showing Ballarat Tramway (SEC) Fares, Charges, and Section Map. Also gives charges for Scholar's Monthly tickets, Luggage, Parcels, Newspapers and Chartered trams. Originally dated August 1965, amended August 1966. Note only shows decimal currency. This was in blue enamel. On rear stamped the number "127" Was issued to Mr. Adam Balloch, carpenter with the SEC depot. Div. news sheet explains the origin of these tickets - found blocking the north east sander on tram 18 on 25 April 2000.
