B&W photo of an open tray truck parked in front of a fuel pump on rough open ground with trees in the background. There is a tall pole beside the pump. The truck has 'MILL ENDS Phone EMERALD 61' painted on the side of the tray, and 'W. J. Hermon/EMERALD/61' painted on the door. There is a manually operated turning indicator – a large white hand shape on a pivoting rod – attached to the door. It appears that the signal is operated through the open driver's window. An unidentified man is in the driver's seat and he is smiling at the camera. Dated 1948. -

Behind her on the left is a paling fence and on the right is a brush-type fence. In the background is a building and a few parked vehicles. There are power lines. -

B&W photo showing a group of people watching John and Bill Hermon displaying their fuel tanker at Pakenham Show, c.1965. Photo shows a fuel tanker parked on grass. On the passenger side door is written “W.J. HERMON/71 LONSDALE ST./DANDENONG/Phone 2-1709/AGENT FOR/AMOCO/PETROLEUM PRODUCTS”. John Hermon, in shirtsleeves and trousers, is leaning against the truck, watching his father, Bill, similarly dressed and with a tie, demonstrating what appears to be a gauge on the truck. “AMOCO” is painted twice on the truck. Between the two men is a sign on the ground and leaning against the truck. It reads “[illegible] deliveries to your/storage tank/ensures/you get every/drop you pay for”. A group of approximately seven men, two women and a boy about 10yo are watching. The women and two of the men are wearing sunglasses. A tank with “AMOCO” is behind the truck and on the right of the photo, behind the crowd, is a sign which says “AMOCO/Farm Fuels/FINAL/FILTER” -

B&W photo shows siblings Percy and Cissie (Minnie Agnes) Johns on the verandah of their home, Glen Park Farm, Selby. Percy looks in his early teens, making the photo around 1910 or later. He is wearing a long-sleeved pale shirt, long dark trousers tucked into knee-high boots, and possibly a dark hat. Cissie is wearing a pale, knee-length dress, dark stockings, and a pale, wide-brimmed hat. She is aged about 10. A medium sized dark dog sits at Percy's feet. The house is an L-shaped weatherboard with two gables at right-angles and a verandah with a bullnosed roof, ornate support posts, and a striped end piece from the roof. Wooden steps lead down from side. There is a large brick chimney where the two wings meet, and a metal water tank to the side. There are large trees, both in leaf and dead, plus some flowers near the verandah. -

B&W photo shows a two-horse team harnessed to a small sled which is laden with bagged-up potatoes. A man wearing dark hat, waistcoat and trousers and a pale shirt is holding the reins of the horses, and two people who could be the Johns children, Percy and Cissie, are seated on the potatoes. The paddock slopes away and another hillside rises in the background. This is most likely Black Hill. dated c.1913. -

B&W photo shows Cissy Johns and friend on a motorbike at Glen Park Farm, Selby. The photo shows two women in their 20s or 30s, sitting on a motorbike with the registration number 12169. The woman on the right who is most likely Cissie, is sitting astride the bike, holding the handlebars. She is possibly wearing a peaked cap. She has a long knitted jacket over a pale blouse, and a medium coloured skirt which is rucked up by the bike's petrol tank, showing her right leg from the knee down. She has dark stockings and what appear to be medium-heeled, laced shoes with a high shine. The woman on the left is sitting sideways on the pillion seat, with her arms loosely around the first woman's waist. She is wearing a cloche-style hat, a dark knitted v-necked cardigan or jumper, a light-coloured, mid-calf-length skirt, dark stockings and dark shoes with large buckles. Her legs are crossed at the ankles. Both women are smiling at the camera. The windscreen of a sidecar is visible. They are in a cleared paddock with a wire fence and trees in the background. n.d. -

She has a light blouse and slightly darker calf-length skirt. The haystack is set between trees on the downhill side. In the distance Black Hill can be seen. -

Beside her is an unidentified farm worker, wearing a hat, dark waistcoat and pants, and pale shirt. He has a pipe in his mouth. They are standing between rows of potatoes. On the left of the photo there is a row with potatoes lying on the ground. There are at least eight full bags of potatoes in the field. Behind the trio is what appears to be the cypress avenue running down to the homestead out of range on the right of the photo. -

Five photographs of Menzies Creek and other villages during the August 2020 Covid Lockdown, taken by Kate Leigh. 027/37 is a photograph of a drinking tap in a park, with a sign saying “Drinking taps closed until further notice”. 027/38 is a cafe sign instructing customers “Please order inside only 3 customers @ a time inside. Wait outside for your order. Thx for your patience.” 027/039 is a shop with a corrugated iron roof, closed off with tape. 027/40 and 027/41 both feature close-ups of railway tracks, with the latter showing weeds sprouting from rails. -

B&W postcard, Rose Series P.2365, named 'At The Kiosk, Ferntree Gully, Vic.' Photo shows around twenty or more cars parked outside the kiosk in what is now Ferntree Gully National Park Several people are walking and standing in the carpark and on the paths. The kiosk is visible in the background with advertising signs outside, including one for Peters Ice-cream. Closer to the camera is a stone shelter. There are tall trees beside the carpark and in the background of the photo is a heavily treed hillside. The back of the postcard is blank. -

Two colour photographs showing a log cabin amongst trees. It was owned by the Edebohls family. The walls are made of logs, the gable ends have wooden shingles, and there is a more recent tin roof with the original shingle roof underneath the tin. There is a verandah on the downhill side of the house. Trees surround the house. The house is opposite Kerrs Park and is believed to be the oldest house left in Narre Warren East. -

Black and White Photograph of the Narre Warren East shop, possibly taken 1953-1956, featuring a building at the top of a driveway. About seven cars are parked out the front of the building. The shop has a high-pitched roof, a central door, and large windows or a verandah. Under the left windows is an advertisement for Swallows ice cream. There are trees surrounding the shop. This was the first and only store in Narre Warren East. It is now a house on Wellington Road. The home and store was built by Bert Dorning, and the Dornings opened and ran the store. -

Black and white photo showing a group of people on the spillway of Belgrave Reservoir (at the time in the Belgrave Autocamp which is now called Belgrave Lake Park). The photo is taken from a person in a boat, the prow of which is visible at the bottom of the image. Three older boys are crouched to the left of the image. All are wearing shorts, shirts, and shoes with long socks, and two have pullovers. In the middle of the photo is a man with three children. The man is crouching. The children are in a huddle. To the right of the image are two adults standing on the spillway. The person on the right is male but the other's gender is uncertain. Between them and the children is what looks like a large portable radio. Behind the group is a heavily treed area which includes three or more white-trunked trees close to the spillway. In the distance is a white house with a verandah running across the front. This house belonged to Laura (surname unknown) before WW2. The house appears to be (now) 30 Judkins Ave.The photo has a white border and on the back is printed '1627'. It probably dates to the 1940s and is part of a collection of family photos donated by Pam Harris, Shire of Sherbrooke President, 1982-3 & 1987-1988. -

Black and white photo of Terry Smith, Pam Harris's younger brother, aged about 6 or 7, during the building of a septic tank for the caretaker's house at Belgrave Lake Park. Terry is sitting in a concrete mixer. On the ground are bags of concrete. A pile of sand is on a tarpaulin. Behind Terry there are shrubs and small trees and behind them are tall trees on a steep hillside. The Belgrave Reservoir is at the bottom of the slope. A house can be seen in the distance, possibly the house visible in B0399. Terry and Pam's father, Oscar Smith, built the caretaker's house, selling it in 1960 for £1250. The photo probably dates to the 1940s and is part of a collection of family photos donated by Pam Harris, Shire of Sherbrooke President, 1982-1983 & 1987-1988. -

A man, possibly Oscar Smith, is looking out of the window and a second person, possibly Pam Harris's sister, is also looking out. Below them, two young people, a boy and a smaller girl, are standing in the garden. This was possibly the caretaker's place. '1627' is stamped on the back of the photo. The photo probably dates to the 1940s and is part of a collection of family photos donated by Pam Harris, Shire of Sherbrooke President, 1982-1983 & 1987-1988. -
