Stanley Kennon originally owned Genesta House. It was sold to the Perry sisters, to Mr & Mrs Odlund, to Mrs Toovey Snr. and then to Mr H Billson who owned the guesthouse in 1935 - 36 when it burned to the ground.Front view close up of Genesta Guesthouse. The building of wood and corrugated iron roofing. Features turret front, two brick chimneys and sporting a Union Jack on flagpole, and Union Jacks draping across the verandah. The sign covering the front door says "Welcome Home". As "Innishowen" was demolished in 1976 this photograph must have been taken around this time. Rogers Cottage was built by John Rogers on the hill on Churchill Island in the early 1860s. The old Olive Trees in the photograph were planted by Samuel Amess in the late 1880s. He planted an orchard to the south of the house. Charlie Richardson was the son of William Richardson and grandson of Joseph Richardson who arrived on Phillip Island in 1868. The house was built by William Richardson who went to live at Rhyll in 1876. His father, Joseph, owned the land. Joseph had arrived on Phillip Island in 1868 when the first land sale took place. The home of Captain Loch at Rhyll was built in the 1860s from timber from deserted cottages on the Island, one of which Capt.
