Image was donated by Mr. Peter JM Bell of West Yorkshire, UK in 2009. Mr. Bell worked for Robert Jowitt & Sons between 1999 and 2006 when the company ceased operations. Mr. Bell discovered this photo and decided to donate it to the National Wool Museum. Jowitt & Sons was established in 1775 and became a limited company in 1919. They were wool merchants and had buying branches in Australia - Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.Photo of approximately 30 men standing on and perpendicular to a railway track. Behind the group are four buildings, two on the left, two on the right. A dog is resting on the railway track. A document regarding an evening of entertainment held at Crossways historic inn in Marysville to fundraise for the Marysville Tourist Association. The evening was reported in The Argus on Saturday, 21st of September, 1929. The Crossways was built in the early 1920s and is the oldest building in Marysville. These were replaced with nine black Thonet dining chairs (one a carver with arms) by Patricia and John Davies - they also purchased two bar stools at the same time. The set of nine dining chairs are currently stored offsite. These models of RBYC Race Management boats (Blue Gum, RB8 and Tarni) have been donated by Graham Noel and can be viewed in a glass cabinet of the Olympic restaurant at RBYC. Graham originally donated the model of Tarni to the club in 2005, in acknowledgement of the valuable work done by race management volunteers. The model was presented to Harry Tedston on his retirement as Race Officer in 2008. Demonstrates how advertising was done within W class tramcars - boxes of the driver's door and yields information about the Hardie Ace Sport shoes. Has an association with Ken Rosewall, tennis champion of the era.Poster advertising Hardie Ace sports shoes. Thought to date from the late 1960's possibly when the trams were withdrawn. "The International Choice, Hardie Ace Sports shoes, Chosen by Ken Rosewall, World Professional Tennis Champion." Has a drawing of Ken? in the poster.
