Henry William Frood was born in England in 1830 and came to the Victorian Goldfields in 1856. As a sergeant of Police, he served for a total of 32 years in Castlemaine, Sandhurst, Daylesford, Horsham and Stawell until his retirement in 1889. The Nunawading Ladies Benevolent Society became the Whitehorse Emergency Relief Network in 1999 when a number of local organizations were encouraged to form a network by Betty and Keith Rooney.
