The damping bottle was filled with water and used to moisten starched clothes and linen before garments were ironed. The introduction of steam irons into households in the early 1960's resulted in damping bottles becoming superfluous.A glass 'Schweppes' bottle has yellow and black graphics on it. It has been recycled and used as a damping bottle. The metal stopper has been inserted into a cork. There are spray holes on the top of the stopper. Photo shows two W2 class trams in Victoria Parade, possibly at the intersection with Brunswick St, given the tramway correspondence box on the nearest pole. W2 510, (City) is fitted with a route number box, while W2 549 (Mont Albert) is not fitted. Both trams have auxiliary destinations boards hanging from the driver's cabins. The ornate centre poles are shown. Though the inscription date is 1930 when route numbers were being rolled out for Melbourne's trams. Professor Kate Leslie was ANZCA President from 2010 - 2012. The portrait was commissioned by ANZCA to mark the presidential term of Professor Kate Leslie and was unveiled at the ANZCA staff Christmas event on the 15 November 2013. ‘A’ Squadron 8/13 Victorian Mounted Rifles conducted a parade at Buna Barracks, Albury on Sunday 1 May 1988 to mark the 103rd Anniversary of the formation of the Victorian Mounted Rifles and the 40th Anniversary of the linking of the 8th (Indi), 13th (Gippsland) and 20th (Victorian Mounted Rifles) Light Horse Regiments to form the 8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles. Colonel G K Howard, Director of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps was the Reviewing Officer. The Pipes and Drums of the 5th/6th Battalion Royal Victorian Regiment provided the music for the occasion. Following the parade Colonel Howard officially opened the Regimental Museum.
