Each page has scanned to a pdf file. Page 1 - newspaper cutting and two photos of Ballarat No. 27 completing 1,000,000 miles. Item from "A Place in the Sun" written by Keith Dunstan. Photo of tram 27 by the Ballarat Courier. Date of Photo. 29/6/1968, taken prior to the TMSV Tour of that date. Black and white photograph of a group of the passengers on No. 27 during the celebration of the tram reaching 1,000,000 (million) miles in Ballarat. Glenys George, Brian Weedon, John Fitzsimons, Graeme Turnball, Paul Nicholson, Barry George and Kevin Clark. Note the sign on the left hand pole about travel to Malvern and St Kilda Beach, the workmen and that another tram has left heading outwards. On the right hand side is part of a sign advising people to catch cars to the Esplanade. Failed to meet its new 82% punctuality target (up from 77%) in 5 of past 12 months. Fined more than $300K in penalties. Both public transport operators won 7 year contracts in 2017. Tram route 86 has lowest punctuality (75.1%), more than 6500 services short shunted (7.5% of all services). Government says tram performance has improved overall due to tougher targets. Customer surveys show 15% drop in complaints to Yarra Trams. This tram began as one of 22 W5 class trams built at Preston Workshops in 1938. Black and white photograph of an illustration of the Fairfield Horse Tram. The illustration is from The Australasian Sketcher with Pen and Pencil (Melbourne, Vic. : 1873 - 1889), No 188 Vol XIIL, 14/1/1885. The magazine was owned by the Argus. The drawing is from a series of sketches at one of the Saturday land sales. The tramcar is numbered 1 and has signage Fairfield Park and Fairfield Tramway. The tramway was operated by Charles Henry James in an attempt to sell land developed by him north of the Fairfield railway station. The tramway operated from 20/12/1884 until its closure in 1890.
