The Buninyong Masonic Lodge was originaly formed in 1858. Built around 1873 by Dr. Sparling, on land formerly occupied by the first Buninyong Inn (aka Jamieson's Hotel). Dr. Frank Longden was appointed as a newly-graduated doctor to Buninyong in 1888, and served the people of Buninyong and district until his death in 1938. This house was built in 1892 as a wedding present from his bride’s father to his daughter on the occasion of her marriage to Dr. Longden.
