The weatherboard cottage was built in the 1860's on land owned by Thomas Hiscock, the discoverer of gold near Buninyong. It is a good example of a miner's cottage of its era.

Glass bottles and lid manufactured for Kerr's Jam Factory in Buninyong, 1890s. Damaged bottle was found on property that was the old David Kerr orchard.
Significant example of 19th century jam jar, used by local Buninyong jam factory to bottle and sell locally made jam.
