The photograph, taken c 1940 show The Gong and the view to the Buninyong Gardens. The trees in the Gardens are well established and early model motor vehicles are seen parked on the Gong dam wall.
Significance
The Gong and the Buninyong Botanic Gardens are iconic features of the town. They are of great historic, aesthetic and social significance. They are representative of early parklands.
