She undertook a Graduate Diploma from the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education from 1987 to 1988, and a Master of Arts, (Research), at Monash University, Gippsland Campus from 1995-1997. Klein often explores how women have been forgotten or erased in art and history. Imagery of braided hair and materials related to the stereotypically ‘female’ spheres of handcrafts and weaving are often features of her work. He was a Director of the Injury Research Project at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Director of the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation. He became a Fellow of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Eric was instrumental in establishing the Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management in 1980 at Ballarat College of Advanced Education - the first tertiary-level course in accidental injury prevention in Australia. During 1977 and 1978 work continued on the development of a course proposal. The first intake of students was in 1979. Key staff included Derek Woolley - Dean of Engineering; Tom Norwood - Head of Engineering Department, Derek Viner - Course Co-ordinator and Zig Plavina - Engineering staff; Max Brooke from the Faculty of Business and Dr Eric Wigglesworth who was at the forefront of OHS education in Australia from 1963. He led the push to get the first formal safety education curriculum and was pivotal in getting the Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management at Ballarat College of Advanced Education. Second letter is to Mr Raeburn Epthorp and award goes to the best Human Factors student. The third letter is to Mr Gordon Lewis - General Manager, National Safety Council of Australia. The award is for the best overall academic performance during the course. It is the "Max Eise Perpetual Trophy". The N.S.C.A. provide a miniature replica for the student to keep. The OHM Annual Dinner to be held on 7th July 1988 in the Bistro, Ballarat College of Advanced Education. Type written letters - single page. He ...Ewan ROSS Ewen Ross grew in the Wimmera and aims to manifest the changing nature of this landscape in his work. This region is affectionately known as the land of the big sky and it is from this viewpoint looking down and across, which inspires his sense of image making. Occasionally he refers to stories that occurred from times past but generally these images reflect the current state of this land. From 1976 to 1978 Ewan Ross undertook a Diploma of Art (Painting) at Ballarat College of Advanced Education (now Federation University. He was awarded a Graduate Diploma of Education in 1982. He was a Curatorial Assistant at the Art Gallery of Ballarat from 1979 to 1981, and taught Art at Horsham Technical School between 1983 and 1985. From 1986-1897 Ewan Ross taught at the Wimmera Institute of TAFE, and was Lecturer in Painting & Printmaking at the University of Ballarat (nor Federation University from 1998-2005. In 2008 Ewan Ross was a finalist in the Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize. This item is part of the Federation University Art Collection. The Background Paper prepared for a meeting to be held on Friday 2 May 1994. It is a Stakeholders Workshop. Information on VIOSH over the years provided. The range of OHS activities include: 1. Accredited Tertiary Courses 2. Short Courses 3. Research 4. Consultancy 5. Advisory Function 6. Information Resources The Graduate Diploma in OHM started in 1979 and was the first Occupational Health and Safety tertiary course in Australia. Since then it has continued to attract students at a national level even though similar courses were offered elsewhere. The map on Page 2 shows the extent of enrolments. The Courses Review Process is outlined and VIOSH is now able to define its own procedures and processes for reviewing its post-graduate programs.This is being managed by a small internal project management team. It was developed for the Victorian Institute of Colleges 1977-81 Academic Master Plan. The working party submitted a Third Draft in April 1977. The Course Co-ordinator was Derek Viner, Senior Lecturer, School of Engineering. The internal working party was Dr E Phillips, Head of School of Applied Science; Derek Woolley, Head of School of Engineering; Tom Norwood, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering; Max Brooke, School of Business Studies; G Fernandez, School of Business Studies; J Harvey, School of Applied Science; B Rollins, School of Community and General Studies. An External Advisory Panel was also formed was different safety and injury bodies. Her practice draws its inspiration from ‘Ancestral marks’ and design on cultural objects found in museum archives and family oral histories. Deanne’s practice seeks to interrogate the colonial legacy of settlement and the western hegemonic systems of class, race and representation in historical photographs that were imposed on her Ancestors. Her work also explores the matriarchal role through her feminist perspectives, looking at the history of marriage and the oppressive function it has played within her family.
