The photograph was taken at the Sunbury Fair possibly in 1977 when Bert Kelly, who is the man in the foreground, was the Shire President. Every year in March the Shire of Bulla held the fair in which community groups participated in a parade in the morning and the afternoon was given over to entertainment by local groups and displays on the Village Green. The lady, wearing a dark patterned dress and standing immediately behind Bert Kelly is Shirley McKerrow. Mrs Mommsen is standing next to him and the young man 2nd from extreme right is Graham Gibb. Tram has destination of "CITY". Photo includes illuminated Paterson, T&G, Myer and the Vegas theatre signs. Has many parked cars in Sturt St, with red lines from the tail lights of vehicles moving on image. Demonstrates the Museums phasing out of tickets priced for the actual fare and conversion to a universal ticket that does not have to be changed for a fare increase. Block of 100 tickets - green ink on off white paper, denomination 1/- (1 shilling), headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On rear in green ink are details of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, slogan and web address. The 100 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. 1622 - A00001 to A00100 (the first block collected at the time of issue 3/1/1991 - 81H x 36H 1622.1 - A20601 to A20700 - 2nd print run of tickets, collected at the time of issue - 25/7/1993 - 81H x 33H 1622.2 - A70801 to A70900 - 3rd print run of tickets, collected at time of issue 1/2001 - 82H x 37W The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. Uniform of a Victorian Branch Commissioner, with blue epaulettes and a green and yellow bread scarf. The uniform was worn by Dr. Geoffrey E. Miles (b.1928) a Scout at 2nd Kew, the Scout Troop affiliated with Trinity Grammar School. He was subsequently an Assistant Scout Master (ASM) at 2nd Kew and was later Group [Scout Master (GSM) in charge of the 4th Kew Scout Group. At one time the Victorian Branch Commissioner for Health, he was awarded the Medal of Merit for services to Scouting in 1993.Short-sleeved, collarless fabric shirt of khaki color, with embroidered badges. Also fabric neck scarf, with braid and vinyl holdfast (woggle).
