Uniform of a Victorian Branch Commissioner, with blue epaulettes and a green and yellow bread scarf. The uniform was worn by Dr. Geoffrey E. Miles (b.1928) a Scout at 2nd Kew, the Scout Troop affiliated with Trinity Grammar School. He was subsequently an Assistant Scout Master (ASM) at 2nd Kew and was later Group [Scout Master (GSM) in charge of the 4th Kew Scout Group. At one time the Victorian Branch Commissioner for Health, he was awarded the Medal of Merit for services to Scouting in 1993.Short-sleeved, collarless fabric shirt of khaki color, with embroidered badges. This item is from a collection donated by descendants of John Francis Turner of Wodonga. Mr. Turner was born on 6 June 1885. He completed all of his schooling at Scotts Boarding School in Albury, New South Wales. On leaving school, he was employed at Dalgety’s, Albury as an auctioneer. In 1924 John was promoted to Manager of the Wodonga Branch of Dalgety’s. On 15/03/1900 he married Beatrice Neal (born 7/12/1887 and died 7/2/1953) from Collingwood, Victoria. They had 4 daughters – Francis (Nancy), Heather, Jessie and Mary. In 1920, the family moved From Albury to Wodonga, purchasing their family home “Locherbie” at 169 High Street, Wodonga. "Locherbie" still stands in Wodonga in 2022. The collection contains items used by the Turner family during their life in Wodonga.This item comes from a collection used by a prominent citizen of Wodonga. It is also representative of a domestic item common in the 1930s.2 ceramic beer mugs. 1 has dark brown glaze with green trim and features Japanese characters. Set of 4 Vietnam Service Medals. Court mounted. Australian Active Service Medal. With Vietnam Bar. Vietnam Military Medal. Anniversary of National Service Medal. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. With 1960 Bar.AASM. Has central star. with date 1945 - 1975. Vietnam Medal has HM Elizabeth 2nd on obverse with reverse showing mythological figure of the Greek God Hermes. Anniversary of National Service Medal surrounds wings beneath an anchor with crossed swords on obverse. The reverse shows the Southern Cross on spreading rays surrounded by a cog. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal obverse shows a gold and white enamelled star with a green- red and gold centre motif. The ribbon is green with 3 white stripes. Reverse shows CHIEN _ DICH over central VIETNAM with BOI - TINH beneath. -

Epaulettes have darkened "AUSTRALIA" name badge on each collar have darkened Rising Sun Badges. Shoulders have a triangular shaped colour patch. Red and Blue triangle on grey felt triangle. Chest has a ribbon bar showing 4 service medals. 2. Trousers - wool - colour Khaki. 3. Hat - Khaki, slouch. WW1 style hat band. Darkened Rising Sun Badge- AMF. Service ribbons are; 39 - 45 star. Photos shows a Melbourne, MMTB, double-deck bus painted in an all-over livery for the Buy Bonds Let's fill the 3rd Liberty Loan - World War 2 campaign. Has images of Winston Churchill and Australian Prime Minister John Curtain on the side of the bus. The bus is a Leyland TD5c type. In the background is a bus with a James Motors 1925 body, which were remounted on K6 International chassis in 1942 - 1943. Photographed at North Fitzroy Depot. These buses were used to replace the cable trams in Bourke St from October 1940. John Curtain became Prime Minister on 7 October 1941 and died on 5 July 1945.
