Bendigo Advertiser '' The way we were'' from Monday, October 28, 2002. Miniatures: in 1960, 15 mini-debutantes, dressed in white frocks and wearing wristlet posies of pink and blue, were presented to the Bishop of Sandhurst, the Most Rev. B. D. Stewart, at St Liborius' annual children's ball in Eaglehawk Town Hall. Black linen-like dress. Peaked collar. Front opening, fastened with five press studs. Seventeen covered buttons decorate the front opening from neck to waistline. A three point five cm wide band marks the waistline, caught at eight points.Skirt has four panels of fabric. Long set-in sleeves have a turn-back cuff, decorated with three covered buttons. -

Black silk lined with black polished cotton- seven gored skirt. A woven floral design through the fabric. Hemline is finished with a two cm braid hand stitched on the inside of the skirt, and finished with a one cm fringe edging the hemline. White cotton full length ladies petticoat. Made of five pieces - two at the back, three at the front. Back opening. Very tightly gathered onto a waistband (4cm). Back section of waistband has horizontal stitching to form casings for four narrow cotton ties. Ties extend from hips on either side across the back opening to be used for tightening and closing the opening. Lower edge finished with cotton cord.
