They depict the ongoing development of the school which now operates as Brauer College in Caramut Road Warrnambool. Historical and social. On March 17 2004, the second of three Vietnamese seminars was held by Arthritis Victoria at the Springvale Senior Citizens Hall. The seminar was held in partnership with local Vietnamese groups and the City of Greater Dandenong Council. Arthritis Victoria's Cultural Diversity worker, Sharon Granek, coordinated the day along with representatives from the local Vietnamese groups and the council. Around 1998 to 1999, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) developed an Arthritis Self Management Course. Course leaders were trained to deliver the program, which utilised Kate Lorig and James F Fries' landmark self-help book, "The Arthritis Helpbook". Myrtle Baylis (née Craddock), a Braybrook and Sunshine resident was one of Australia’s early women’s Test cricketers and a rare dual‑international who represented Australia in both cricket and netball. She was born in Footscray in 1920 and raised in Sunshine, Melbourne, making her a significant figure in western‑suburbs sporting history. Myrtle Baylis played six Test matches for Australia between 1948 and 1951, taking 16 wickets at an excellent bowling average of 19.62. Lorraine Kutcher, born 29th January 1938, Sunshine, and a Sunshine resident, is one of the most accomplished women’s cricketers to come out of Melbourne’s western suburbs. A right‑arm medium‑fast bowler and lower‑order batter, she represented Australia in the 1960s during a period when women’s Test cricket was infrequent but highly competitive. In 1986, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) held an information stall at Chadstone Shopping Centre. The stall was situated in a prominent position opposite a Coles New World supermarket. On the 17th of October, 2000, Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria) held a seminar on World Osteoporosis Day (WOD). The event was held at the Glen Eira Town Hall Auditorium. 200 participants attended the seminar, which included guest speakers and information displays. Located in High Street, Wodonga, this hotel underwent many modifications and name changes. It was built c1859 by James Bambrick close to the intended rail terminal in Huon Street. The site of the rail terminal actually changed but the name remained. James Bambrick served three terms as Wodonga Council president and was it was commonly referred to as “Bambrick’s Hotel”. It included 30 rooms as well as dining facilities. James Bambrick ran the hotel until 1902 when it was sold to J. Donnelly for £3,000. In 1912, whilst operated by T. J. Weller, the residential section of the hotel was almost completely destroyed by fire but only the ceiling of the bar was damaged and it continued to operate. Over the ensuing years the licensee changed hands frequently. By 1952, John Perry, owner of the “Stump” Junction Hotel also had the freehold of the Railway Hotel At some stage in the mid 1980’s the hotel was renamed as the “Murray River Hotel”, but still displayed the sign of the Railway Hotel. In 2009, it was closed for a short time whilst renovations took place to convert it into O’Maille’s Irish Hotel. It was demolished in 2020. These images document changes to an important local building first established c1868.
