Details the number of trams in each city, the rates for a standard size internal card, based on the number of cards, larger cards, half yearly and quarterly. Gives reasons why you should advertise. Has the same name, telephone number and the name "Alan Davis Pty Ltd of 149 Castlereagh St Sydney" on the card as well. Not sure of their relationship. On the front small folded section, an image of an owl and the statement "Be Wise and Advertise". Features a photo of 26 at Gardens Loop, providing location, operating hours and address details. Has a "give away" attached to the card. On rear has six other commercial / tourist locations. Produced by "Trading Places Print & Design", were designed to go into locations where tourist would visit, eg hotels and be placed in large turning or circular racks. Has telephone number on rear. ... advertisements ...Demonstrates that methods and equipment use by the SEC to give destination information to passengers and later on advertising for events that passengers could access from the trams with a walk. Yields information about an event and its location, but the date of the event is unknown at this time.Sign - painted onto a SEC (very similar to a MMTB auxiliary destination board of the type that could hang on the front of a Ballarat tram car with the words "Bell St Only" on the front and a paper advert on the rear for the Homes and Industries Fair, at the Drill Hall in Curtis St. Has another former painted advertising sign underneath. Date of use not known at the time of acquisition. To be researched. Bell St was a destination on the Ballarat Destination roll, so it may have been used on trams which were not fitted with full destination rolls and then recycled by the SEC for advertising means. Metal sign, fitted with metal hanging brackets, riveted to sign on both sides, made from about 1.5mm sheet steel. ... advertisements ...Ticket - light brown paper, "Combined Fare Ticket" - MMTB, over printed with a red 5d, and Ticket Number A B 425191. with conditions of travel on the front. On the rear is printed in red ink is an advert for B. Matthews Pty Ltd, with head office at 102-110 Toorak Road, South Yarra, advertising a Motor Funeral Service. Dean Filgate advised 24-12-2020: Unfortunately an un-used example, from the same block that most collectors obtained one for their collection ! There are genuine used examples of similar 6d (purple overprint) tickets, however I cannot find my "files" about these: there were at least two places this type of ticket was used in the early to mid-1930s. One was a "Combined Fare Ticket to and from the City via The Coburg Electric and Brunswick Cable Cars", the other was used on the Glen Huntly lines to enable passengers to pay only once for their journey to the City, as until 1934 trams from Glen Huntly Depot did not run direct to the City - you had to transfer trams at Elsternwick or Ripponlea.trams, tramways, melbourne, tickets, mmtb, advertisements -

Bread machines were made for quite a long time from the 1890's on. They came in different heights and capacities. The advertisements at the time stated that making bread with their machine was superior to hand kneading, This item is good example of a domestic appliance used when most foods were home-made. Access to commercial bread was limited in rural areas and housewives became skilled at bread-making.Metal bucket with lid. Lid has hole in centre through which a handle for turning the dough hook comes. Grey rusty coloured.Put in all liquids first, then flour, turn 3 minutes, raise in pail. A. J. Royce & Co. were general merchants in Orbost. Royce's was essentially a bakery in Nicholson Street on the site of the present supermarket. Robert Pullar Cameron was a Shire Councillor for many years. He married Penuel Hossack and had a family of James, Flora, Penuel and Alex.This item is an example of the hand-written book-keeping of an early 20th century business in Orbost. It is a useful research tool.A small paper account, black print and blue writing. At the top are illustrations of two young girls with an advertisement for Chamberlain's Cough Remedy between them.
