Three black and white images taken from: "Melbourne water supply - sewerage schemes" Special edition of the "Building, engineering and mining journal" The operations of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works. (.03) Plate XXXI. Under Port Melbourne Railway, Hobsons Bay Main Sewer, Section No 3. This view was taken in compressed air, and shows shield doors in background with men placing extra htdraulic power in position. A complimentary letter from a child of the Lardner Family that arrived at the depot (placed under the door) on 12 April 2000, with drawings and a note on computer printer paper with perforated holes on the sides. 1429.1 - Drawing of the depot building with tracks outside, with No. 6 road highlighted and with a note "best". Black and white photographs of Tudor style two-storey building (2 originals, 1 copy). The hotel has a long association with the Reddish family, thus given the name of "Daisy's Hotel". Included 2 copies of the photograph. Ryman Healthcare bought the site in 2019, including the garden supply business next door, making up a 2.2ha area. The proposal was for a $220 million retirement village to be built. The location is next to Ringwood Lake with the old hotel being knocked down in the early 2020s. Photo published by The Courier 5/4/1960. Has the outbound tram standing while the front door is open with the driver looking back. Note the lack of motor vehicles (cars) in the street. Furniture - Desk, unknown
This desk was donated to the MTSV in 2017 by a descendant of Padre Oliver, Chaplain from 1930-1960.This desk belonged to Rodney Oliver and is believed to have been used by Padre Oliver and his wife while Chaplain, and the family resided at the MTS and thereafter in subsequent parish postings. The desk makes a link with one of the longest serving Chaplains who had a significant influence through the intense period of operations early - mid 20th C. The Padre's influence was substantial. The desk is also believed to have been used by son Rodney Oliver who also served the Mission as Chairman in the later 20th C.A four drawer leather topped desk with detachable unit comprising double sliding door lockable cabinet with small bookshelf backed with shallow pediment. Sorting / sectioned pigeonhole interiors to the top cabinets see images. The main table desk appears to be of a different wood with green leather inset to top surface and heavy legs. Drawers with heavily decorated brass handles. Black and White Photograph of the Narre Warren East shop, possibly taken 1953-1956, featuring a building at the top of a driveway. About seven cars are parked out the front of the building. The shop has a high-pitched roof, a central door, and large windows or a verandah. Under the left windows is an advertisement for Swallows ice cream. There are trees surrounding the shop. This was the first and only store in Narre Warren East. It is now a house on Wellington Road. The home and store was built by Bert Dorning, and the Dornings opened and ran the store. -

Frank Leslie Barkla was a keen amateur photographer and member of the Melbourne Camera Club. This is an almost identical shot to SH0379, however this is a better print with greater contrast.Black and white photo of a decorated vehicle owned by Mr Wally Ives outside his fruit and vegetable shop at 154 Union Road, Surrey Hills on occasion of Empire Day celebrations in 1937. The truck is decorated with the foliage of palm trees, ribbons, strings of round balls, which are also arranged in coronets, pumpkins and strings of carrots and Union Jack flags. The wheels of the vehicle are decorated with flowers. Looking through the open door across the new decking, the Original St Martins Church can be seen in its new location. Both buildings are owned and operated by the historical society. -
