Yields information about a system of tram passes that were provided to the City of Ballarat Councillors in 1960 and has a strong association with the Councillors himself.Stamped brass badge or pass for free travel on the Ballarat Tramways for the year 1906. Stamped to give the words "Ballarat Electric Trams 1906" on the outer edge of the Badge and then stamped out to give the letters 'B E T" on the inside of the badge. On the top of the badge, a hole has been provided and a steel ring fitted. On the rear of the badge has the letters "CR. T. J. Hoare" stamped on the top of the badge and on the bottom the manufacturer's name "Stokes" in a reverse stamp. Indicates badge issued to the Councillor for the year 1906. A3 size sheet photocopy of an item that appeared in the Rockhampton Morning Bulletin on 28/1/1989 about the work done by the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society. Article by Carolyn Varley of Rockhampton, discussing her visit to Ballarat and the work being done by the people in Rockhampton for the restoration of the Purrey Steam Tram at the same time. At time of interview, driver or motorman for the BTPS was Peter Winspur and Conductor Chris Jacobson. Single sheet of paper that appears to have been either taken from a book or was printed as a pamphlet to advertise the routes that Ballarat Tramways (ESCo) ran. On the reverse side is an advertisement for Craig's Hotel, Lydiard St. Ballarat. See image files as well. The sheet has numerous tears on the left side (when viewed from Craigs Hotel) and marks possibly from gluing into a book and pieces of paper missing at about the position where it could have been stapled. Also two pin holes in top corners. The details for Ballarat Tramways notes the use of Fare Boxes, the Electric Supply Company offices being near the Coliseum, and the various colours used on the various routes and points of interest for visitors along the route. Request people to "Enter front end of cars and move right through". The advertisement for Craig's shows a photo of the hotel, motorcars outside , that it has been renovated and sewered throughout, that T.F. McManamny was proprietor. On top and bottom of the photograph, "J. Hesse" has been handwritten in using black ink. A letter "A" is on the lower left hand side of the sheet. Possibly c1920, though the cars could date this more accurately and when T.F. McManamny was the Proprietor. On top and bottom of the photograph, "J. The photograph shows Geelong No. 2, built by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide in 1911 in its as-built configuration, c1920 at the Wharf terminus, known as the Moorabool Street Pier. The tram line was opened in 1912 and closed in 1940 when the track in Corio St was extended to the Beach terminus. There are a number of horse-drawn vehicles in the view with goods being loaded or unloaded on the ship moored on the right. The tramway was operated by the Melbourne Electric Supply Co. (MESCo). The photograph from the collection of Ken Magor was published in the Sydney Tramway Museum's magazine Trolley Wire in April 1981. The photo caption advises - "The steamship to the right is the Edina, a veteran Port Phillip steamer which was launched in 1854 and was not broken up until 1957." Book of 10 All Day Tickets, numbered A000001 to A000010 printed for the Ballarat Tourist Tramway, contained within an off white front heavy paper (front cover) and off white card back cover sheet, with a two staples on the left hand side. Each ticket is from a light yellow card stock, printed with green ink showing the month of issue on the sides and date of issue (1 to 31) on the top or bottom. Each ticket is numbered and has a perforated left edge to enable it to be torn from the book. Ticket punched by the conductor to shown the month and date of issue. On all tickets, just to the under the staple is a vertical heavy green band. Used from late 1975 until March 1986. Item collected for archives on at time of issue. Collected for Archives 30/6/2004.
